Garliv of course has abhorrent, draconian conservative dogma. Prolly hates gay folks as much as does the Luo.
He reads like a person who treats the Left as a monolith. I can't blame him coz that used to be me too. I hated the excessive woke politics, but now I know better what the fights are really about. The Establishment Dems push woke politics because they're actually very right-wing on econ matters. They have no other way of looking 'not establishment' or even 'not Republican' besides identity politics--it gives them cover to pretend they have a 'small person' they're fighting for while keeping their billionaire sponsors safe from taxes. This is why their candidates don't offer voters anything besides, "Vote for me, I'm a woman/minority/gay." You see them now in their true colors because they're having to deal with bonafide left politics which is more class-based and pushing for bonafide change, much different than the identity games they replaced them with since the late 80s but mostly under the Clintons.
It's a survival reflex. While Dems are the party of diversity, they still need the independents to win. Independents unfortunately need the reassurance that shit is not being given away to minorities for free.
IMO the problem with Bernie:
He needs Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida(but any three of those should see him through). Pennsylvania and the Mid-Western states are where Trump essentially broke through with squeakers on the backs of voter suppression and poor turn-out in the Philly, Detroit, Milwaukee areas(there is a lot of black in there) and loses in Western Pennsylvania. Other than that, I still think these are states for Dems to lose.
My basic thinking is Biden would do a better job rectifying this result than Bernie because he appeals to those same demographics that cost Hillary these states. I am open to the possibility of that changing given that it's still early days. The next set of Primaries should be decisive and if Dems are wise, they should line up behind whoever comes out in front after Super Tuesday whether he spouts Sandinista propaganda or wine cave narratives.
