It happens a lot. My own grandfather murdered my grandmother from my mother side one night. Afterwards, went and woke up my uncle who was in high school (my mother had just been married) and told him he had killed the enemy. I never saw him. He was a huge man so I was told and use to grab goats and kill them with his bare hands. So he simply squeezed my grandmother with his bare hand and killed her. My uncle went and informed villages. Nobody could dare come...so eventually lot more people from like sublocation...came and subdued him.
He was arrested and taken to Nakuru high court where murder suspect were taken. The man I think died in remand - I heard from lack of food - I heard he ate soap or something - he had big apettite for food.My uncles went and buried him at Nakuru cemetry. All these happened before I was born. The retired ass chief who was my friend - old mzee - told me a week before he had gone nuts kinda of - and went to the Ass Chief to report that his wife was sleeping with 3 neighbours
- an he had told him he' will come resolve the issues - and send a family friend - to talk to him. 3 days later he had killed the wife.
I don't think i was born then. My mother will never say a word about this - it a no go topic. So all these I heard from other people.
It mostly mental issues. My grandfather was one of the most progressive folks - had built a stone house during those days - and was feared far and wide for his bravery and body size ( all my uncle and aunties inherited his 6 feet plus huge body ). He had single-handly killed a cheetah and his nickname was Francis the Crusher. Many say he was cursed for killing people goats - he snapped their neck- and ate them. He was the forest guard...hired to beat up anybody who went hunting or fishing or collecting wood from Mau forest.
