Welcome back  Robina.

What is certain?  The handshake is not a joint ploy to string Baba along.  For the hustler, the path to the presidency just got tougher than the walk in the park his supporters like harping on to reassure themselves.  Baba remains capable of putting a monkey wrench in the Kenyan political scene whenever he wants.  For me, none of this is surprising.

The cake is getting smaller to feed all those unsatiable mouths or the slaves are not producing more- they need whips, bullets - more GSU, army and all sort of colonial taxes.

I agree. The Ruto crew don't have a coherent narrative; one minute there is no deep state, the next minute they say deep state is after Ruto.

Ndii interview
https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/article/2001315637/ndii-if-dp-ruto-does-not-triumph-in-2022-he-is-finished-politically

There were people saying that Ruto was the acting president and that they found Uhuru to be passive. Were there issues of co-presidency and was there an expansion of political space for Uhuru to free himself from those handcuffs if they were there?
No! I think what people are doing is to ascribe to Uhuru a mission he doesn't have, a mission for Kenya. There is no evidence that Uhuru is in this for the people of Kenya, he is in this for himself, his family, business, associates and the people he strikes deals with for self-preservation

Are you ignoring that there is a big push for 2022 and the Ruto takeover narrative?
There is a lot of discomfort in Uhuru support base about Ruto now as Uhuru's successor. What you see is a self-preservation strategy. I see a lot of things about this and I categorize it in three pillars, to demobilize opposition, to denaturalize Ruto and to restore the authenticity of the State. What you see are efforts to take the demon of corruption and put it in one person and cleanse the system using Ruto. This is like the biblical story of taking demons out of the person and put them in pigs.

Thanks. Just been about. I am bored - disappointed - by the Kenyan political direction.

When RV had hopes with Uhuru. How times changes

Uhuru is playing his cards close to the chest. Once we figure out his game plan we will know for sure. He still with Ruto and still doing 50-50 in all appointment with few crumbs of bread going opposition which is expected considering they are giving uhuru national support.

My bet is Uhuru will do the rational thing. He will "retire" from pork, pick Ruto deputy and continue as Jubilee leader. Murather-Raila idea is too toxic - for Uhuru to lose everything for PMship in Raila gov is the height of desperation. Uhuru has never been that desperate. In fact he is reluctant PORK who is thrust into this because he is a Kenyatta scion.

Ruto had the lead before the Handshake but Raila has played really well since.

On Uhuru you could be right but I doubt it. The technocrats - Kinyua? Kibicho? - are not influential enough to direct Uhuru to mess with Ruto like he has been doing since the Handshake. His actions are resolute and don't look like indecision. Uhuru and his cronies want to continue ruling and eating and don't trust Ruto or Raila to share power. Ruto knows this plan and must thwart it while contending with the Raila wedge. This is the real game in the offing. So long as the Ruto-Raila rivalry and mistrust is so deep Uhuru will have easy leverage.

Robina you're back! Raila is still dead; And if it ever come to Raila v Ruto; Ruto wins it everyday; I think what we are still grappling with what does Uhuru wants? Does he just want a some "success" to retire with - or does he want to continue to be a key player. Once we figured out that - it will be easy - if he wants a retire with some "love" - then Ruto has nothing to worry - if he wants to continue - then he'll probably find some utility in Raila.

The people fighting Ruto are a small faction of technocrats - who want to edge Ruto so they can eat  - before Uhuru resigns. They know Ruto has been eating everything that Kenyattas was not interested  - and they probably are nearly succeeding in edging Ruto from the eating table.

Their biggest headache is convincing Uhuru to take the risky move of extending his rule. Uhuru is lazy and all that - but he aint a fool to fall for such schemes.

The guys fighting Ruto are not politicians - and that is their biggest handicap. They are the usual overblown civil servants who will be fired when things get hot.

Of course. I always thought Uhuru was brilliant and would do rational things to preserve their gains. But now we are dealing with UFOOL - a confirmed fool who has now destroyed his legacy and is about to bankrupt his family - after bankrupting kenya.

Uhuru versus UFOOl.
