There is no debate the war on corruption and lifestyle audit are just meant to check Ruto. So long as the contest is Raila vs Ruto it's a no-brainer who is dirtier and it's self-defeating to lump the Odingas with the Mois and Kenyattas. You need other points if you're a Ruto supporter, not comparing corruption or integrity. As a Kenyan any thieves getting nailed for any reason is good news.
All I see is that Raila has overthrown Ruto and is the de facto DPORK while Ruto is de facto
kiongozi wa upinzani.
Uhuru is hounding and firing Ruto boys - Echesa, Chelugui, Rotich - while rewarding NASA - Wavinya, Kalembe, ole Nkedianye, etc. Expect more of this as the Boinetts retire or heads roll from the phony war on corruption. We'll see how the Magogha confirmation goes. Ruto pulled a
mlolongo to control Jubilee... Raila pulled Handshake to break Jubilee. Ruto's URP rebels are not enough to upstage GoK as we have seen a few times - fuel levy bill, etc - as they are outnumbered by NASA. Uhuru elevated Matiang'i - robbing Ruto of projects and increasingly cashflow (loot) to campaign.
Ruto is in a tight corner. He does not have the incumbency advantage which has been robbed by Raila. If he attacks Uhuru he alienates GEMA. He threatens GEMA diaspora, same effect. It's like a fight with the hands tied to his back. With the corruption skunk firmly on his back Ruto cannot afford to alienate GEMA. Moses Kuria, Kimani Ichung'wa or Muthomi Njuki are not different from Sirma, Magerer or Kosgey who supported Raila for goodies but delivered nothing in the end. 2010 Referendum was the big stroke that broke Raila's grip on Kalenjin. I think the expected Building Bridges referendum if it happens will be a very tight rope walk for Ruto. If he leads No against Uhuru, he completely loses GEMA for which Raila is salivating like a hyena. Seems Raila is ready to be hybrid or ceremonial PORK or maybe he's playing Uhuru for a fool.
Any way, Raila has gained big while Ruto is the biggest loser.
