Mudavadi Needs a Brain Transplant
« on: October 28, 2014, 04:34:58 PM »
He forms a party with a base in his home area. He appoints a running mate from an area he knows he would not get a single vote. The results come in and they are interesting indeed! His so called running-mate votes for Uhuru, as do the running mate's wife, children and dogs! UDF gets as close to zero a vote as it is possible to get in Central.

However when it comes to dishing out Nominated party seats, he let's his running mate appoint Martha Wangari and send s another post to Hassan Osman (well, this one did nominate himself as the party was still his in the briefcase).

Mudavadi does not bother to check whether he is in fact a member of the party. In his hurry to work for Uhuru to destroy ODM he forgot the small things of life. He was more concerned with being invited to Uhuru's home to negotiate a cabinet post than organize his party. He goes ahead to unilaterally enter in to a post election alliance even though he had no such authority. This is the man who imagines he is presidential material!

MaDVD was played by Kibaki -using his technocrats led by Prof Wanjohi /Nancy Gitau financed by Wamboi wa Kibaki who were jittery about losing power and Uhuru elect-ability.The party was formed by Wanjohi and those officials (Osman,Limo) were their poodles.

MaDVD bought into this hook, line and sinker. He couldn't even ask why Kalonzo was not being propped but being dropped? why him?

And it has backfired very badly. Uhuru refused to stepdown despite pressure from Kibaki, went on to win and has not time for maDVD or his backers.

MaDVD still has not learnt anything. His first business should be to exit AMANI/UDM/ and for the first time ever grow up. Build your own party. Find a platform. Become your own man. Even Kalonzo has become his own man.

MaDVD is an overgrown baby.

He so naive. Surely, they say once beaten, twice shy! He was cheated in 2002 to Rainbow where he was Raila's candidate for President. I did not think he would be cheated again ten years later.

His own man? I think he is done. He is used up. Like a banana, once it is passed ripe, it starts to rot. He cannot.

Yes he is of no use to anybody now. Raila cannot abandon Wetangula for him. UhuRuto will be wasting time on him given he brings nothing. This is chance for Khawale or Oparanya to rise as leader of Kakamega-Vihiga.

Look at how many votes Khalwale brought in. Compare with what came from Vihiga. ODM almost eclipsed him in Vihiga. The MPs elected there were out of their own popularity. If he had such influence, why on earth did an outsider take the Governorship? We studied the area very well and if some of us had been listened to he would not have got a single vote. Sadly Raila did not wish to go nuclear on him. We already had Khalwale having arranged not to fight him for the Senate. Khaniri had cut another deal with us. Yusuf (Vihiga) is personally popular and has firm control over the huge muslim vote in the area. That left Sabatia where we had no strong candidate.

He was also a beneficiary of a last minute lethargy arising from mismanagement of the election. No cash reaching the grassroots. We used most of our own money and then decided to pay debts and ask people to go home.

Bado he is waiting for things to be done for him bwana.

See. Moi picked him from UON to succeed his late father prolly coz of teh family relations, elected unopposed and straight to cabinet. By '93 he was given Finance minister, kulad from Goldenberg but Mzee protected him. By 2001 he was complaining to Moi that Jirongo is stressing him so much about the Kanu National vice-chairmanship. Moi told Jirongo to tone down his contest and allow Mudvd to be one of the 8 Kanu national vice-chairs representing Western province. He then later rebelled kidogo on Mzee to join the Raila/Saitoti/Kalonso Rainbow alliance, but Mzee pulled a few strings with KRA and judiciary and Mudvd ran straight back home. Mzee gave him the vacant Vice President's post which Saitoti had left to go join Raila at Rainbow.  Mudvd still lost the Sabatia seat in the 2002 elections and by 2004 the KRA was on his neck kabisa (ask him what happened to his Mitchell Cotts companies hehehe) on the outstanding ushuru he had enjoyed not paying during Mzee's regime.

Raila picked him from oblivion, helped him back into politics throug the Orange campaigns on the 2005 referendum, helped him get back his Sabatia seat in 2007 and even appointed him ODM deputy Party leader when RVs were saying it should be WSR, and in the nusu mkate govt Raila got him the Local Govt ministry which was a powerful post, and to top it all chose him the Deputy PM under the Nara arrangements.

Now, Obako snatched him from Raila, gave him the readymade UDF party, and even promised him Uhunye would give it up for him. Even as Uhunye backstabbed him and called him a mashetani, Obako still funded his campaign and even gave him a readymade runningmate Kioni who did not even vote for him! Kumbe Mudvd was not even the recognized Party Leader in the party books, maybe Obako was also to have sorted all this out for him???

Yaani this guy has been having things done for him. This is the perfect example of a royal big fat spoon fed burger boy!

The only thing he ever did on his own was to decline the Kanu nomination into Parliament in 2003. Hiyo tu!

So, now what happens to his coalition with Man Gidi's Kanu?

Khalwale spilled the beans on him. Perhaps the reason Kibaki bailed out on him is when he learned that the Bozo had started negotiating with Uhuru directly. They sat in his house in Riverside waiting for a call form State House and none came. That Mzee Kibaki when he gets mad, he goes silent. So the UDF brigade decided to crawl back to CORD.

MaDVD strangely asked the team to go ahead. Unknown to them, he was waiting for Uhuru who had just seen Ngilu arriving at KICC and started shitting in his pants. You can see Ngilu taking a call at KICC. That was after MaDVD had already got his - to stop him from going to KICC. For that Uhuru was willing to make any promise. He stayed at Riverside until the CORD rally at KICC was over then left to call him shetani. Once again he had been played.

When Moi took him back from Rainbow, the promise was the VP post. But Mzee was not about to dish it out in a hurry when he could still use it as a honey trap to woo greedy politicians. We had a good laugh at his expense. Kulei would send word that "it is today" and so MaDVD would have bulls slaughtered and tents mounted, only to be disappointed. It happened so many times people wondered whether he actually had any brains in that huge head. Poor man

Mansfield are you sure of your facts? This is one area in Kenya I am very familiar with, outside Coast and Nyanza. Let me start by correcting you: Maragoli are NOT the largest Luhya sub tribe. The Bukusu are. I assume you have based your facts on the contradictory Wikipedia.

Musalia Mudavadi comes from the largest Luhya sub-tribe Maragoli community which constitutes 35% (2.1MN),He managed to consolidate the Maragoli vote during last election and garnered 29%,Second largest luhya subtribe are the Bukusu who make upto 17% Luhya,Raila managed to consolidate Bukusu and the other Luhya sub-tribes which in total constitute about 65% luhya and managed to garner 66% in Western province during last election,Wetangula seems to be the Leader of Bukusu (17% Luhya) while Mudavadi is the leader of Maragoli(35% Luhya),It will be interesting to see how these two battle it out,

Without Prejudice.
