Kiunjuri will look back and realize the mistakes he did
1) He did not attack Uhuru enough - he let fear of deep state - overcome him. They have come hard on Gachagua but Gachagua is likely to nick DP and make even more money that he being tried for. Alice Wahome has also been fearless. She is also one of favourite. I dont see how any of the other blowing hot and cold will be considered to rally the angry hustlers of Mt kenya. Ruto will need the fearless and angeriest of them all.

It almost a given both Raila and Ruto will go for Kikuyu DPORK - Raila need to try split Mt Kenya and retain Kambas to have realistic shot.

2) He did not join UDA when he is TSP got no traction.

Kuria was doing well on both fronts - until PDP drunk water and Kiambaa happened. Tacticaly Moses Kuria is great - only problem is coming from Gatundu South. He simply cannot replace Uhuru.

Kiunjuri can still recover - he need to unilaterally fold up TSP and join UDA - and then ATTACK UHURU 24hours 7 days a week.

But now he is with Kuria - threatening Ruto with scare-grow of Raila winning the mountain - but they do not want to go to Raila - because they know the ground is anti-Raila.

Now how can you sustain empty threats for next six months of political octane. Negotiation and threats are done the last week of May - when coalition deadline beckon. The last days.

For now they need to re-join hustler nation - and then come April threaten to go Raila way - if they do not get DPORK. But threatening this early - mean Ruto will simply replace you - as more people will be joining UDA - and you'll look very lonely.

This is a joke aint it ? Mt Kenya is not angry with Uhuru  for any tangible reason apart from Joining hands with Raila.
As the elections approach and Uhuru becomes a non factor the anger will turn to Raila. It makes more sense to attack Raila than Uhuru.
Secondly Raila will not go for DP from Mt Kenya . His plan is to win a substantial number of votes from there. It will not succeed having antagonized them for more than 2 decades.

You both are right and wrong. Let me help you. I have been studying kenya politics since 1990.

Mt kenya feel betrayed by Uhuru for embracing a Raila they thought they had vanguished. Mt kenya hate Raila. Both are angry expression.

Ruto should attack Raila. Mt kenya politician attacking Raila is almost as good as silent one. Everyone is sold on it. Attacking Uhuru is going to get you bonga points.

You need to study human group pyschology. Mt kenya love Ruto coz he knows how to destroy Raila. They wont take kindly if Ruto was to attack Uhuru.The same way you can critcize or punish your kids but wont take kindly to anyone else doing it.

But the same is not true for Mt kenya politician - attacking Raila is 20yrs late - almost everyone in gema is sold on that.

If you see the most popular politicians in mt kenya now - they are those attacking Uhuru - but Ruto will never do that mistake.

One thing with Uhuru between 2013 and 2017 is that he tried  to go for the bird in the bush while leaving the one in hand. Malindi by election was a wake up call. Same van be attributed to Mois mistakr in 2002. Raila is making the same mistake. Imstead of consolidatimg his core base and try to top up here and there . Je has been lied to he can get 30% of Mt Kenya votes. It wont happen.
New generation of born 1995 and above have in theor lifetime seen Raila fighting Mt Kenya to remove that from their heads will require a miracle. Its like our generation and Moi. I started appreciatimg Moi when he was out of power. In the 80s Moi achieved alot. Raila is in the same boat. The only way to defeat Ruto is not to contest.
If he is in the ballot a rallying call will be made that this man has never given up in frustrating Mt Kenya and they will rise up in the morning to vote against him.
