Happened to be in Mugithi gig and several lines were about Ruto gospel. The crowd responded with ululations.  The man has the soul, my posh clean politics drinking friend nearly choked our alcohol with anger.

And the moment you disagree you are a branded traitor dynasty. This is what makes Uhuru and company blood boils. The Mt Kenya bottom is very awake. The next election will be a massacre for many political careers.

Dynasty then top it up with Raila :) :) One is enough to send you home but a combination

Even my friend has 'declared war' on anything Ruto touches. It is becoming a very weird football match where the opponents only aim is to break the leg of the goal scorer.

Raila has Blood all over...innocent blood. And I can't forgive upuzi ya kujiapisha and $$$ it cost the country. That idiot should be no where in the ballot. Has anyone ever considered how much Raila politics has cost this country since 1982. If we had a $ number of what Jacom has cost this country, it will make corruption cost look like sunday school offering. I know the God who stopped Reggae will stop Rao's bid for this job.

You like Raila and team are realising too late that the Original Jubilee is still intact and supporting UDA and Ruto currently.
We always tell you Mt Kenya never voted for Uhuru in 2013 and 2017. They voted against Raila. Let the bogeyman be on the ballot in 2022 and Mt Kenya will wake up as early as midnight to vote Ruto 5th President. Then your reason of defeat will be Ruto through handouts bought the Presidency. Previously you used to say Mt Kenya are tribalists cant vote for their own.

Many mwafrika suffer cognitive dissonance. People all over are struggling with school fees, hospital bills and then you wonder why they appreciate handouts, fundraisers and the hasora nation.

Musicians are hardest hit and the handouts from Ruto are a lifesaver for people whose livelihoods have been killed by senseless restrictions whose political aim is to stop Ruto.

Quote
Two Mt Kenya region music stars, Joyce wa Mama and Samuel Muchoki, aka Samidoh, have suffered a loss in a combined Sh9.4 million showbiz deal they had signed with a Murang'a-based entertainment joint.

Wa Mama was supposed to entertain patrons overnight at Sofla Lounge and Grill in Maragua last Saturday but she found the club sealed off by police, who said they were enforcing Covid-19 protocols.

The club's owner, Solomon Njaramba, lamented that "this Covid-19 is becoming a real nightmare and I will now count losses impossible to recoup in the near future if this pandemic and lock down remain".

Samidoh was scheduled to hit the stage at the same joint on August 7 for an overnight entertainment deal, which too now stands cancelled.

Deal documents seen by Nation.Africa show that the estimated attendance per show was 3,000 and the entry fee Sh400 per head. Each singer was supposed to earn Sh400,000 in direct payments.

On top of the Sh2.4 million in entry fees, each patron would consume services worth Sh1,000, raising a further Sh6 million.

The joint also runs a fuel station in its compound and that would have raked in at least Sh1 million in sales.

The planned events, said Murang'a South police boss Alexander Shikondi, were organised with utter disregard for the prevailing Copvid-19 protocols.

He said he had not seen any application for the club to hold a mass gathering, saying "it was an ambush sort of function, whose existence we learnt about through ground security intelligence" and warning that such compromises on security will not be entertained.

Those that have transitioned online - are making more money from Youtube and likes - than they could ever make. The challenge is for them to adapt. There is more money to be made as everyone has gone online....way more than waiting for such events.

The transition is overhyped, I see number of views in the online shows and it rarely goes past 1,000 even for serious artists.  The cost of bundles is quite an impediment. And now the digital taxes muddying the waters further.

Even online you depend on Mpesa, CashApp tokens or for those lucky company endorsements. Facebook already clamping down on shows over all sort of copyright.

Youtube monetisation also does not seem to be clear - there are many braggarts talking of millions.

But some like Churchil cross thousands in few days and millions. A couple are making career out of this. The whole social media influencer is catching fire. All the billions that normal would go to mainstream media in advertising are going to be online.

The same for SME.Online strategy is now key strategy for everyone....this COVID in that sense is god send.

Yes, it should not be only source of income - because well you cannot release a video every day - but can become good passive income for artists with good content.

Events are still needed but this period to real go for online strategy.

Samidoh doesnt have to sing - he can use his popularity to do other stuff online.
