My simple advice to them Mt Kenya elite lost control of the masses simply by associating with Raila.
Cut yies with Raila and you can be accepted back .Uhuru did that in 2007, Kibaki did that in 92 with Moi and most recently Ruto has shown he is the one who can fight it out with Raila .Hence the support.

Tribal maths in kenya is easy to compute. They know if Ruto has 'entered' the hearts and mind of Mt Kenya -it upperhill battle - because where else will NASA - if they ever unite again - get the extra 10 percent votes - I think the last election Jubilee had 8.1 - and Nasa 6.6...that is a HUGE GAP...55 percent versus 45 percent.
