Orengo opposes BBI
« on: May 01, 2021, 08:16:42 PM »
I am not sure what game is being played here. Maybe Raila want to reject it in parliament to force a referendum? Maybe they fear Uhuru plan is to sign BBI into law as soon as it passed in parliament - and leave those touching protected sections?

I'm with Orengo  :D BBI is an Uhuru/Uthamakistan project.

This is choregraphed by Raila - Uhuru planned leaked early - Uhuru never wanted a referendum - he wanted BBI to be passed in parliament - then he can claim - it doesn't really touch on protected section - so the constitution would be duly amended. If you disagree - you go through high court - all the way to supreme court.

Raila therefore is going to reject it in parliament - and then it by-passes Uhuru - and goes direct to IEBC.

Smart move by Raila....unless he chicken out.

Uhuru if he is committed to BBI...should continue to push forward after parliament reject it.

Perhaps 2022 local Nyanza elective politics in play. Orengos/Otiende side have been clear that they are going to pass BBI in parliament however they will go on record stating their minds. Its evident there is a big percentage of Nyanza population who feel they are being played with BBI. Orengo/Otiende are echoing those sentiments

Mbadi /Junet side is the current side which either listens to Raila without questioning or the side Raila is keen on listening. This is the lot  which will be sent packing in 2022. They should have learnt from Railas cousin Jakoyo Midiwo.

All said and done these mixed signals is doing more harm than good for BBI and Raila. On the other hand its next to impossible for Raila and ODM to outsmart Uhuru and his advisors.Raila on BBI was tricked from the first Bomas presentation , then they should have accepted and fast tracked the referendumn. As at now its real muddy from Judiciary to the electorate.
Damn if they abandon the quest for a contest Damn if they dont abandon.

I think the public difference is not real; it choreographed; good cop; bad cop; They started when they sensed Uhuru was interested in side-stepping the referendum; and they see GEMA rapprochement is not happening. Raila is still see Kago and his elders.

So Raila is sending mixed signal - but wait for the voting this week - I predict ODM will reject BBI in parliament - unless Uhuru become smarter - and allow the ammendments.

Uhuru just need to sign BBI into law...and the rest can be handled by Judiciary and lawyers.

That is uhuru gameplan. He is not interested in a referendum like Raila is. He is interested in non-referendum clauses in BBI - and plain reading of the law..give him power to sign parts that don't need referendum into law.

Wetangula wakes up from deep slumber. Look likely BBI will be defeated in Senate.

Doesn't matter if it's defeated. All you need is Lusaka reject amendments - then Kang'ata and other chameleons must take a stand - on the floor and in referendum-elections. Tangatanga will have nowhere to hide in Gema.

Weta fool gave up his ambition to back Mdvd "Luhya unity" - now he obvious not top slice for BBI lineup. Slow wit.
