Allan Namu is one of our finest journalists. I watched this documentary when it came out. Depressing; desertification, poor grazing management, unchecked population growth, barbaric nomadic herders with hair triggers for violence, easy availability of modern firearms all combine to make the North a cauldron of conflict and instability.

Sleep is good, death is better; but of course, The best would be never to have been born at all.
