What a country:
President, AG and CJ from one backyard? Also AG and CJ having private law relationship to the president.

Uhuru hates the Courts, right now he has advantage +1 in JSC, Ngatia is getting it.

As Ngatia said by September 2022 the President will another person.Let me add it will be Ruto. He will pick his AG .
With this reality and also another reality Speaker will not be from Mt Kenya. The Mafia will have to bag CJ. Ruto has no qualms his man in JSC is voting for Ngatia.

Optics not good for Ngatia. I am still betting on Ouko. The ODM brigade will celebrate this as handshake;

Yes I see judiciary voting for their own - Ouko.
I don't know how optic would look like if Kikuyu in JSC vote for a kikuyu.
That will bad optics and will Kill JSC.
We know for a fact - that Gichohi, Kihara and Mugenda - are likely to vote Statehouse way.

What I cannot bet is on Felix, Mercy and Macharia (sit for LSK).

Felix will vote where Ruto wants.

Mercy I don't know.
Macharia I don't know.

Anna Amadi doesn't vote - she is court registar - and sit as ex-officio.

Quick search - Statehouse don't like Mercy Mwache - going by this petition.  She was appointed by LSK.

So we Statehouse prefects really can hope to get 3 plus maybe Macharia (if they appeal to tribal sentiments). Seem it may come to stalemate btw Pro-Judiciary and Pro-Statehouse - so Felix/Ruto will break the tie.

Exactly , Ruto man will decide ama has already decided.
As for Mercy Deche , I believe her term ended in March coz Im also not seeing her on TV. LSK didnt replace her on time due to the wrangles so when we remove her we have 5 vs 5.

Right. She is out. Not seen her on interviews.
So it's Judiciary - with 4 judges and magistrates
It's statehouse - with 3 key supporters.

Ruto with one
LSK - Macharia - a wild card.

Judiciary has the upper hand (4) - they need Ruto man or LSK man - and they win.

Uhuru has to win Ruto's man and LSK man.

I don't think Ruto will be keen to play ball - because Uhuru is not planning good for him - so he will rather trust the judiciary choice.

Uhuru is losing this - that mean Koome and Ngatia are out.

Ouko is the safe bet for everyone - including Uhuru - who will claim it's HANDSHAKE - and Raila too.

But honestly Ouko is a system career judge of impeccable integrity and credentials.

Would be nice to get Ngatia to reform the judiciary - but with Uhuru and 2022 - NOT GOOD OPTICS. Beside Ngatia will not reform Judiciary with Uhuru refusing to play ball

Ngatia perception of being close to the system could plunge the country into civil war if those against uhuru or system refuse to go to court.

The LSK guy is Jubilee , in the elections last year he defeated NASA guy Ojienda.
Ruto is more comfortable with Ngatia.  Ouko guy is ODM damu

All said and done in the corridors of justice they are saying Ngatia got it long ago.

Well, the Ouko I have known, since the 90s is judge I would trust. But obviously we shall have such concerns raised. The same way Ngatia was challenged on Uhuru.

Because ODM forwarded his name to head Task Force on Judicial Reforms in 2009.

I see ODM rejected the same reforms headed by OUKO. Claiming they were not involved in selection. So I think it not true Ouko is ODM man.

At the meeting ODM-allied ministers rejected the recently released report by the taskforce on judicial reforms that had made far-reaching proposals.
