Getting proof of attendance from your primary school
« on: February 15, 2021, 08:27:25 PM »
Has any Kenyan living outside the country ever attempted to get proof of attendance from their former primary school? If so, did you contact the primary school or the Ministry of Education?

Any feedback will be highly appreciated.

You can get school leaving certificates - on any piece of paper with a nice stamp.

Thanks for responding to my post.

Can any primary school issue a school leaving certificate? Even after you long ago graduated from the primary school?

RV Pundit,

I had no idea that there was such a thing as a school leaving certificate. Thanks.

My only concern is whether they have these certificates for people who graduated in the 1970s. I'm assuming that what you get is a photocopy of an original. Am I correct? A photocopy would be fine for me. I just need something to prove that I attended and graduated from my primary school.

Also, I have tried to find a telephone directory of primary schools in Nairobi on the Web but simply cannot find one. There's probably no such thing.

Most keep records. Otherwise go swear an affidavit.

RV Pundit,

Please explain. I am in America. How can I swear an affidavit? Would I not need to be in Kenya?

RV Pundit,

Guess what? You're not going to believe it. I slowly went through ALL my documents today, and found the report cards that I had saved (from the 1970s!). I had searched before and did not find them. I also went through all my family photos and found some very important ones. I'm now going to scan all these documents and store them on different devices so that I never lose them again.

I really appreciate the help you gave me.

The primary school documents and family photos are needed urgently. It's a long story. 😊

I may come back here if something else pops up on this matter.
