Would happen to Uhuru after he makes Raila president. You cannot leave the presidency and still want to pull strings in the background.

Yes power concede nothing. There is nothing like gentleman agreement. It happened to Ruto but he is a man about it. Politics like business or even sports is cut throat competition

Kabila is not Ruto or Raila- his nusu mkate was obtained via brazen rigging. How can his presidential candidate be distant third yet his party got 60% MPs :o Tshisekedi needs to be swift as he purge army, cops, etc of Kabila loyalists. Otherwise Kabila could overthrow him... The man killed his own dad Laurent-Desire for power and is a heartless killer.

Very far from it....

DRC is awakening! And you can’t imagine how rich this country is. It has been plundered mostly by vested interests especially allied to Kagane and Museveni in opposing plundering cabals.

Joseph Kabila doesn’t anymore have the levers to mount a guerrilla war and he doesn’t have the stomach for it (he is a rich $ billionaire living it up, why would he want another bush war? The army (most of whom were his loyalists) are now fully aligned to Tsishekedi.

Tsishekedi has struck a master stroke where he has aligned all the main opposition figures towards what he calls the Sacred Union of DRC and he has overwhelming support for this. The next few weeks and months are going to be very crucial on how DRC goes forward but certainly this move is for the better.

That country is on a whole different level... of only it organised itself; it is massively wealthy!! Tsishekedi seems like one who could engineer it’s turnaround.

We shall see. I think Congo is split into 4 parts; Tshikendi and his southern Lumbubashi. Kabila and Eastern Mineral rich Congo of GOMA. The North Eastern Congo of Kisangani and the Central or Kinshasasa congo.

But generally the entire country is a shit hole without any infrastructure.

Tsishekedi is weaning himself off Kabila.

It is still tenuous and dangerous times and Kabila could yet spring something but it seems that Tsishekedi has sort of neutered him and insulated himself. As a person with vested interests there and keen watcher of DRC (aside from the little activities that I am involved in there), this is huge and the whole country appears fully behind Tsishekedi move after yesterday’s official announcement of his next moves to recalibrate the country’s politics.

Whoever control the mines of eastern congo - runs congo. And that person is kabila. The rest of Congo is a useless forest without any infrastructure.

Lubumbashi is actually (said to be) Kabila’s stronghold. Remember Kabila’s fallout with Moise Katumbi??? Tsishekedi home is Kasai region.

Tshisekedi dad - the late Etienne - was anti-Mobutu Sese Seko oppositionist for years. Felix grew up in Belgium and got rigged in by Kabila who was keen to fend off Moise Katumbi and Jean-Pierre Bemba from power. Katumbi and Bemba are the real opposition from the East DRC - Goma/Kisangani and Lubumbashi. Kabila and the Tshisekedis hail from West DRC area of Kinshasa. It why Kabila preferred him to eastern coalition candidate Martin Fayulu.

Felix Tshisekedi is a pampered Ivy League kid and illegitimate president. He need to steer the transition carefully riding the anti-Kabila coalition of convenience. Kabila is "Senator-for-Life" with rock-solid immunity. I think it's entrenched in their BoR 8) - that how they got him to step down from C-in-C.  He can go slowly if they let him keep the loot and leave him alone. Bemba and Katumbi are propping Tshisekedi for now but are harder to deal with longterm. Kabila had to hand them over to ICC and declared them persona non grata ala Miguna or Sheikh Balala.

Yes, you are correct in a way but not quite. Partly so and also why you have to watch Kagame and Museveni’s next moves. These two and Kabila of course have personal vested interests but I dare say Kabila has no stomach to get back into a bush war. The guy is living the best of his life generally trotting around on his Harley Davidson (mid life crisis😀) and receiving $700k per month salary (which he doesn’t need!!) as ex-president.

Remember also that his departure was negotiated with the western powers including letting him off on potential ICC manenos. He could become another Taylor if he starts some mischief.

When did Kabila become a western congolese or because he now lives in Kinshasasa. Kabilas are from east.
Bemba is not from the east - he is from West - North West. He is a Mobutu remnant - coming from the same area - and his father making his fortune then.
You're totally confused.

As long as they don't go for his mineral wealth. Otherwise what is 700K monthly salary when you're sitting on a 24 trillion dollar wealth. Congo theatre of war will happen in Eastern Congo - where DRC gov will be prevented from getting mining royalties by rebels - if they go for  Kabila. Kagame and Museveni will of course want it that way - so a weaken DRC can allow them to enter and leave congo almost at will..with gold and diamond.

The rest of congo pretty much doesn't matter - because it's undeveloped shithole.

Correct on Kabila departure and Bemba and Katumbi. Yes, Fayulu won... and this was mostly by Katumbi backing including hundreds of $millions in running that campaign. Remember Katumbi and Kabila were business partners and had a famous falling out. Both Bemba and Katumbi are probably (human nature) doing this as a payback to Kabila.

Tsishekedi isn’t Ivy League; it isn’t known whether he even went to or finished his uni in Brussels.

I stand corrected. I long assumed it from Kabila extreme hostility towards Katumbi who hail from Katanga/Lubumbashi. Also because the Tshisekedis and the Kabilas are both Luba tribe. I could be wrong.

I thought Kabilas were long routed from East Congo mines by M7-Kagame in 2001. Right before Kabila Snr was eliminated by the son. Rwanda & UG propped Wamba rebels who controlled the region till 2003 Wamba and Bemba became Kabila VPs.

Some years later Kabila consolidated army, chased Bembas and maybe re-took the mines. If Tshisekedi has kicked out his loyalists from the army then Kabila has nothing except life senator title and the stashed loot. That enough for 50yo that never worked a day in his life. A leech.

Eastern Congo is a theatre of endless bush wars linked to minerals. It cannot end soon. All you need is to raise money, buy guns, get some few soldiers and slice your self a mine - and give it to mining company - and tax them - or even mine it yourself if you can. It helps that most of area is forested....so you have enough cover to do anything.

DRC gov depend on the mines. Rebels depend on the mines. The rest of country is an undeveloped forest without any economy worth talking about - with almost non-existent infrastructure.

It wouldn't be surprising to find Kenyattas, Mois - probably Odingas and Rutos - have invested in the mines through dodgy companies. Way they quickly welcomed Tshisekedi - and Kabila before that. Moi & Pattni Goldenberg was an investor. The stench go all the way to Pananosic and Tesla here - cheap raw materials.

https://nation.africa/kenya/blogs-opinion/opinion/raila-molasses-and-the-men-from-pretoria-1159726

Raila is deeply involved. He sold Spectre to Energem Resources - a dodggy "canadian" company involved DRC mining and wars. His visits to DRC are not coincident. I bet Spectre is money laundering scheme by the "Canadians" - more South African war mercenaries of Congo. Rather than shipping gas containers - you can bet they are shipping minerals.

1)  Bemba is a rebel leader causing trouble in Eastern Congo. He is married to Liliane Teixeira. Liliane is the daughter of Antonio “Tony” Texeira the CEO of Energem Resources. The company owns 55% shares in the Kisumu Molasses plant.

2) Raila is also linked to current president Tshisekedi - I bet through the same Texiera - who funds these wars.

Remember South Africa use to be the mecca of minerals - like Saudi Arabia is for Oil - and now those minning thugs have moved to DRC - as South African mines run dry. These same minning thugs finished Latin American mines.

After they are done - DRC will be left with gaping holes - and zero minerals.

At top of the food chain are Jewish kings and lords - who control the mining industry - De Beers and the likes. Below them the International Thugs who supply weapons and deal with logistics of shipping minerals. And the local thugs in DRC - who protect the mines.

Tsishekedi another Uhunye. A spoilt brat that never finished college and never had any formal employment. Was dad's son all the years. He was known like his local counterpart in Kenya for spending a lot of time in night clubs and waking up at midday or early afternoon.

Correct on Kabila departure and Bemba and Katumbi. Yes, Fayulu won... and this was mostly by Katumbi backing including hundreds of $millions in running that campaign.
