Deputy President William Ruto’s allies have supported calls to dissolve Parliament, vowing not to defend their parliamentary seats on Jubilee Party’s ticket.

They say if President Kenyatta were to heed Chief Justice David Maraga’s advisory to dissolve Parliament over failure to enact the two-thirds gender rule, it would offer them an opportunity to defect to other parties.

Sources within the DP's circle on Monday told the Nation that  The Service Party of former Agriculture CS Mwangi Kiunjuri, Party of Reforms and Development associated with Garissa Township MP Aden Duale and the New Democrats linked to former Marakwet West MP David Sudi are possible alternative vehicles for Tangatanga allied MPs.

"If the President heeds to Maraga's advice and a by-election is called after 90 days, most of us in Ruto's camp will use Kiunjuri's party or the New Democrats because we can no longer withstand what we are being shown," said an MP.

Subsequent elections
Jubilee deputy Secretary-General Caleb Kositany declared he will lead other legislators in vying on a different party in subsequent elections, saying the aspirations of forming the ruling party have been lost.

Ms Kositany lamented that they have been humiliated in a party they have heavily invested in.

"I support the CJ because we have been mistreated in our Jubilee Party. If Parliament is dissolved, I will not defend my seat using it, and I am not alone in this...," said the Soy MP.  “ODM is revamping, but they are helping wreck Jubilee as they build theirs. Let Parliament be dissolved but I cannot guarantee that Jubilee will remain the majority party if we go for re-election," he added.

Defend seat
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey said: "Some of us do not fear elections, we will be voted in by those who trusted us with these seats. If Parliament has to be dissolved, let it be from the President to MCAs so we institute a hustler government.  Jubilee, which has been stifling democracy, will be forgotten.”

“Jubilee is a party which doesn't follow the law. Why should we continue associating with it when there is an opportunity to quit...?" Posed Keiyo South MP Daniel Rono.

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa said they want the President to dissolve Parliament so they can use the by-election to decamp from the ruling party.

As we get to 2022 - more and more people now underground will be emblodned to tell uhuru the truth.

Jubilee has been killed by Uhuru.

Dead as dodo.

Technically he has killed it by refusing to consult.

Brandwise - he has killed it by failing to get anything on Jubilee manifesto done. BIG4 is is now BIG ZERO. He is now all over the map - but no mention of it. Just BBI.

Uhurus history with partys is well known , he single handedly slaughtered jogoo. From the biggest party in Africa to the party it is a  few senators and Mps.
I fail to understand why he had supremacy wars with Biwott over the party only for him to give Raila the party and Raila to transform it to ODM.
It really doesnt make any sense why he would form a coalition with PNU in 2007 then later to hand it over to Moi. Actually Mois takeover was a stage managed coup. Moi just organized a delegates meeting and bingo he was the chairman.
One place i fault Ruto is here, he trusts Uhuru to a fault , When Murathe was kicked out and Tuju had an accident he should have managed to sneak in some neutral people specifically  elected officials e.g Naomi Shaban etc
Well thats water under the bridge history has it no political party in Kenya has rewon a regime changing election thats why PNU had to go.
Ruto should now focus on a new party with new officials with new slogans and party colour. In 2022 he should rebrand himself this is the party real politics in Kenya.

Now Uhurus lack of leadership skills is evident by his inabilty to bring unity in Jubilee, how then can he claim he can unite a country. No wonder his family keeps him off from the family business if it want for Mama Ngina and Muhoho he would have already brought down his familys empire business, well he might just have planted the seeds. Only time will tell

Uhuru is the big picture guy - and has no energy for the grind. Kind of guy who makes a good chairman - not the CEO - like his brother. He cannot manage coz he has no time for the details. That big difference btw him and Ruto. Ruto loves details.
