Everyone knows that further to 2017 election loss by Raila , He knew his time was up and one thing he wished to do is " correct" the Naivasha talks "mistake" which lead to the new constitution . The main reason he never participated in the repeat elections and the main reason he formed the resist movement  . After realizing the resist movement was not getting tract he decided to swear himself as " peoples president" so that he could put pressure on Jubilee .
However the March 2018 handshake changed the matrix and  his plans - He now had an opportunity to use Uhurus naivety  to change the constitution at first Uhuru was for the idea to use other means to comply with BBI recommendations apart from change of constitution/referendum .
When it became apparent that  Uhurus ambitious big 4 plan was going to fail , he realized he might exit the political scene without a firm legacy so he had a change in heart and saw changing the structure of constitution could be used as part of legacy (One of Biggest Kibakis Achievement was promulgation of the new constitution ) secondly by singing Railas change the constitution movement he would be able to tame Raila and loot all he wants without any noise making - This is the foundation of the so called handshake/BBI marriage . Uhuru and Raila are tied by the hip in this BBI/Handshake marriage primarily  for Uhuru is leave a " legacy " and for Raila correct the  PSC naivasha talks " mistakes  and secondarily looting for Uhuru  and a chance to get back in power for Raila .
Will they succeed is another question .  Raila thinks he is using Uhuru and vice versa , unlike in previous years where the mwananchi was not enlightened this time around they are , further the dynamics of politics  have changed with 2010 constitution .

We shall see soon. BBI 2.0 has had to be put on a freezer as they battle 1M1S. The first battle will be internal - for BBI crew to agree btw themselves. That won't be easy.

I believe this current katiba went through all sort of iteration - starting from Bomas draft - all these ideas - including regional gov - were rejected - for good reasons. We have the best system - that mirrors our 42 tribes. Anything else will lead to problems - smaller tribes will be sat on by bigger tribes.

The same with all these prime minister and pork - we will be back to NARA when PM and PORK don't agree - and there is civil war in gov. It better we keep the current system - and strengthen devolution.

We also need to strengthen the opposition - give them perks, chase cars and all the respect - so they can do their job as an opposition. Raila is crossing over to Jubilee so he can get a fake job - but if the opposition loser had permanent office with staff - with cars and all the work - and he appointed shadow cabinet  - and they really focused on their opposition job- we would be somewhere.

Now we are back to KANU - one party state.

The Naivasha talks from my point of view was the middle ground between the various parties  and the main reason why we have the current constitution . There was the Karuas on one side and the Orengos on the other side  employing political brinkmanship burning midnight oil , advocating for their interests from increase of constiruencies ,change of borders and regional bodies  . Then there was the Uhuru and Ruto who opted for the give and take which lead to a successful deal.

Im in agreement that this system is the best for Kenya , where the focus is less of tribal regions rather of bringing Kenya together  .What Raila s advocating creation of  14  regional governors and scrapping of county governments is a recipe to chaos , Its taking us back to the Old constituion where by provinces will be used as the center of distrubution of resources thus creating a venue of marginalizing the minority it the province   and regions will have tribal leaders creating more ethnicity within the regionan and nationally .
As for the PM and parliamentary system as long as the current constituencies  are  used as the basis for the parliamentary system expect chaos in governing . The president might win the national  vote but  a coalition of parties will govern , with Kenya politics  known for indiscipline where MPS move from one party to the other each day (You had Karua saying Minority leader doing a better government job inside parliament and Raila doing the same outside parliament where as he is the oppposition leaded .   the PM will be changing from one month to the other thus no tangible results will be achieved from the government .

Raila single handedly destroyed Kenyan poltics , Kibaki stood prety well as the opposition leader from 97 to 2002  with the Kiraitus and Karuas as shadow cabinet minister and the government in waiting . While in opposition he joined KANU now you see him doing the same and joining Jubilee- .When one loses election play your rightful role as the offical opposition   Uhuru, Ruto Mutula Kilonzo and the current Speaker did a good job as opposition from 2003 to 2007. Keeping the government in check is a very critical job secondly it showcases the alternative talent . Prior to 2002 elections we thought Uhuru, Ruto , Mutula  and generally KANU were weakling but they emerged as people with potential and hence once of the reasons they are in government leadership .

This is total nonsense.

Raila isnt correcting Naivasha Mistake. Pundit and I were the only ones who followed and deeply criticized what transpired there. Though Pundit forgave and moved on while I pursued it and made it know Raila will regret it, Pundit has cited it and referred to it regularly. Pity he let you get away with misinformation.

Uhuru Kenyatta wants a 3rd Term. Raila wants a final stab at the presidency to please Ida.

Uhuru Kenyatta isnt about legacy. We are talking about a guy who gets so drunk he passes out at a graduation ceremony he went to officiate at. He has no idea what a legacy is and doesnt care. His immediate concern: Make money to cover up for the 24 +11 years his family was out of power after Mzee died when he was too young to take over the family business. They do not want to let power go out of the gate again. No

Anything else with complicated ideas of legacy or 4 pillars or frogs please sahau.

Omollo, Indeed Raila in cynical move - supported the presidential system - because he thought he would win it. Then he lied that it's Uhuru and Ruto ganged up at Naivasha.

In BBI 2.0 when ODM had 2nd chance - they did not support parliamentary system.

Now we are into BBI 3.0
