Well they still operate in Hong Kong. Likes of Apple can be squeezed to their knees if their sweatshops are shut. The assembly is done in Shenzhen. Tesla has a gigafactory in Shanghai - its biggest future market by projection.

For companies like Google and Facebook, does  Hong Kong really amount to much?  (And, by the way, they may have so many headaches from the new security laws that they decide to leave on their own.)   As for the others, the Chinese government has gone out of its way to help those companies, because they are seen as a huge plus for the locals. Take Tesla, for example:

  I don't know where you get this delusions sir. I can quote you dozens of hedge fund managers and reputable economists who basically think an economic war with China is unwinnable. When we are threatening not only private companies but countries like Germany and Belgium then you know we have lost it. Xi is matching on to Taiwan after taking Hong Kong and there is nothing we can do about it. Even crazy Duterte of the Philippines told Trump to send the US military to take on China first and he will follow closely behind. We have become a joke.
