Uhuru despite all the puffing and huffing got 6 senators from central (one who is independent -kirinyanga) and one Embu - and Sakaja. In Gema, Ruto had Nakuru, Laikipia, Meru, and Tharaka. In all Uhuru had 7 elected senators. The rest were intimidated, nominated senators. That is how unpopular he is.
Uhuru has officially gone lame-duck - and now depend entirely on ODM goodwill - to get business done in parliament - because he has taken war to the majority of MPs and senators in Jubilee.
For anything to pass he will have to be doing a lot of heavy work.
In fact, at this point, he really has no option but forms a government of national unity, and let everyone eat. Ruto was willing to let him eat - as long as he didn't move the 2022 cheese - but now he has to create positions for KANU, MadDVD, Kalonzo, and Raila. And they now Uhuru is weakened - so they won't be soft on him.
Ruto broke the Cardinal Law of Power: never outshine the master. Worse he attempted to usurp Uhuru’s base through mlolongo, harambees and endless trips. Both are unforgivable sins. He was tolerated and made to feel anointed in Jubilee 1.0 only for the votes.
BBI is a flop so Uhuru is going home. He would not get any deal if Ruto controlled the ground - power concedes nothing. This is the correct move in GEMA interest. Ruto attempted to yoke GEMA as Raila has done the Luhya- he deserves all the bakoras he is getting. I told Pundit 2 years ago: Ruto will be hammered until he needs GEMA. It came to pass.
Please list the Senate PG attendants or absconders we debate. We see if they are 16/22 as Tangatanga claims. It is very easy to confirm online any denials and recants from both sides. Back Ruto numbers with verifiable facts.
We shall see. And when you analyse numbers at the Senate you realize Uhuru don't have/didn't have numbers. It's a question of brute force. So many Senators have been on media and social media saying they never attended any meeting. And it is verifiable that some of those listed as present were actually not there. Uhuru is a dangerous drunkard with state power; that is all giving him "success.."
NB: In addition Uhuru is doing whatever he's doing to provoke Ruto. So that if Ruto were to oppose anything then their claim of him (Ruto) undermining the president get traction.
And just remember Ruto was not doing anything different from what he was doing during their First term in office. He was still going round the country and preaching Jubilee gospel. But in the second term and after HANDSHAKE then Ruto was said to be "TangaTangaring" all over. If Uhuru was not intent on remaining in power, then the claim of Ruto undermining him would not arise. But now that he has intentions and schemes to remain in power then Ruto becomes a burden. That's what is cooking here...
