Though I have seen some trends on twitter, I haven't followed closely what's going on with Tz covid and Kenya.  Is there some bad blood thing going on?

Many people underestimate magufuli. He has won several battles such as with mining companies, snatched Museveni pipeline, building Electric sgr, canceling chinaman colonial loans, triumph over evil conservationists to build 2100mw hydropower, cancel Diesel power generation contract etc.

Kenyans should stick with sending free flower to UK and holding twitter demos!

The Covid19 scare is revealing the underbelly of medical research now that we have all the time in the world to nitpick everything from the health practitioners as we seek to reclaim our social lives. Corona viruses are present in all sort of animals. In fact nearly all the pathogens, we pick them from animals and plants. We need clarifications on whether the current tests can differentiate samples from humans and animals.

It is only that his inference seems muddled implying that because goats have it, it did not jump from bats in China and is in Tanzania.

This is just a sign that once these pathogens learn how to jump from animals we will nowhere to hide. Medical research has to accept criticism in the way it is doing things- more flexible and accept common sense criticism from citizens and leaders.

Will make Kenya's SGR look like a joke. He also splitt the contract into phases and different companies. No loans from China this time and per km much cheaper than Kenya's which is diesel driven.
In the case of corona, he has gone a bit mad. This thing is not a joke especially if the country does not have the necessary health facilities to take care of the coming casaulties.

Cheap is expensive. Getting turks to build you a cheap railway that will be expensive to maintain. The worst is BORROWING COMMERCIAL loan to finance this. Kenya borrowed very cheap loan with long maturity from China. Magufuli borrowed from south african commercial bank. The same nonsense of awarding Egyptian to build him 2,000MW dam. Hiyo ni drama inakuja tu.

Worst - their SGR has no cargo to transport inland :)

Magufuli is a well-known fool. M7 must be regretting - oil pipeline thro TZ is dead now. It would have made sense to join up with  Turkana - but the fools thought they'd build the longest heated pipeline in the world.

Natural gas in Mtwara - he has messed it up. The same way he messed up Gold and Barrick.

I think you missed the news that Turkana oil is DOA and tullow scam unraveled. Kenya owe Tullow 200billion shillings with nothing to show.

Then the Barrick Gold saga was closed after a joint venture was formed...

I believe the more significant development in TZ mining is formation of mining markets to facilitate small scale miners. Its trickle down effects is game changer for native miner.

Both kenya and Uganda oil are DOA. Tullow sold Uganda for mere 0.5B dollars. They cut their losses. Total I doubt has the apetite to deal with Magufuil while risking longest heated oil pipeline - in era of low oil prices.

The biggest damage Magufooli did in Barick - is to scare every investor.

He of course bended backward - because the fines were impossible to be paid.

But every investor knows going into Tanzania is very risk with a mercurial president.

This CORONA has confirmed he is actually a freaking mad-man.

Magufuli makes a lot of sense. Folk better accept that testing this think is pinkie-ponkie.

Magufuli very smart, sent them fake samples and everything returned positive...lol. who the hell is testing samples? Should put them on the blast so we can shame them. Definitely there is an agenda here on test results.

But that is basically testing things outside of the domain of the test.  You will get results.  They will just be meaningless.  The guy is a nutcase.

I actually thought this guy had some education.
It is very disturbing to see African leaders adopting the Trump model. It will only lead to chaos.
Apparently not...

And that's what the result should have been 'inconclusive ' rather than positive. The tester failed miserably 'sanity' check. Whoever is testing sample should be held accountable.

At the end of the day it works on GIGO a principle.  A positive or negative is meaningless if you go outside the prescribed domain.  I wouldn’t surprised to see that kind of disclaimer on the test kits.  The testers were not aware of the bad faith of the samples being brought in.

Garbage in garbage out might work in computer and software world but when dealing with human life it's a whole new ball game. Either you have a test kit or you dont nothing in between...the last thing you want is people who dont have this virus being put under this strong HIV medication.

Let's suppose the tests are looking for a chemical reaction(s)(they are).  You get the right combination of chemicals and you have a positive.  Otherwise negative.  If in humans, this combination would only be found in people with covid-19, then it's useful for that purpose.  Does that preclude something else, maybe engine oil, fenesi , sungura etc, from having that combination of chemicals that reacts a certain way with the test?  No.  That's why I think you have to restrict the domain, or it's just garbage.  Magufuli doesn't know this.

Mapadlocks is a lunatic, brainwashed by TB Joshua. Rather than admit error he persists in it.

I'm not sure what tests Tanzania is conducting but my guess is the the antibody tests. PCR tests which check the virus RNA are highly accurate. It's either the virus RNA is there or not.  Antibody tests are cheap and fast, but can throw off lots of false positiy and negatives. Here's a thread on the accuracy of the tests:

?s=19

I know Kung Fu is sending substandard kits, but this is no sabotage or some devious conspiracy. With lockdown and global demand for the PPEs and these kits, every manufacturer is overworking and standards tend to drop under such pressure. I think China's days as a rising super power are over. Nobody wants to trust them with everything again.
