Kenneth Otiato Marende - a promise undelivered?
« on: September 30, 2014, 03:00:36 PM »
This man Kenneth Marende, did during dire times when Kenya was being mauled by dogs, actually restore some hope and a sense of sobriety. People may not be willing to give him credit due to his present circumstances but to be fair to the man, he was in a class of his own compared to the riff-raff we have as speakers. On the streets of Nairobi and around the country, business came to a standstill as people waited for his "Solomonic rulings" as they came to be known. People hope that the Supreme Court could pick from there and try to be innovative an da little more idealistic, but they lost the steam. People do not even find time to listen to Supreme Court rulings anymore! In terms of legal insights that capture the imagination of the Nation, we have a major vacuum at the moment I suppose. Which of the numerous institutions has potential to actually provide the sorely needed leadership in the new constitutional dispensation? :-\

Here is one example: http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/?articleID=2000073548&story_title=Kenya-How-Marende-delivered-Solomonic-ruling

He is partially to blame for his current state. Why did he allow himself into oblivion? At least he should have made himself visible and relevant. Look at Mudavadi and Eugine, they are not that forgotten.
