The impeachments of Gachagua, Wambora, etc flopped because no national politics were at play. It was governor vs MCA local fights. But not this time. Factually Waititu is guilty of corruption in tender issuance - but the proceedings will only canvass that as an excuse to hang him for supporting Ruto. Murkomen and Cherargei already seem to act as his defense while Sakaja and Orengo want to set an example of him. Ruto crew so far have lost with their stuffed committee being rejected for the whole plenary.

Sakaja is emerging as a fierce pro-Handshake force in Nairobi. Looks calculated to edge out Sonko by being Uhuru + Raila favorite.

Sakaja, Cherargei differ over Waititu impeachment

Pkosgei is courting the Luos and Luhyas. Waweru the man with charisma of a block of wood is still the favorite for the likes of Kamanda. Jaguar might be also thinking of courting the the poor. But Sonko is a tough cookie.

Jaguar and Waweru are worthless paperweights. Sakaja is very ambitious cunning fox who is taking advantage of Sonko troubles. The other day he swiftly stepped in to oversee Ministry of Transport bulldozers begin fixing Kasarani poor roads after the riots. It looked choreographed. He has also stepped into the BBI fray at a curiously opportune time.

This thread is about the Senate numbers....

Yes Sakaja is cunning but Kikuyus nurse huge ambition of ruling Nairobi. Sakaja I think is headed ODM - where he will meet ODM thugs and he will be send back. Kidero knows Raila - he will bring some millions (maybe 200m cold cash in dollars like he gave Justice Tunoi) and Raila will sell ODM cert. Jaguar if he stick with Ruto - can win Jubilee ticket - and be in strong position. I suspect Sonko will go independent - he is been all over the map too and has lost.

As for senate - Waitutu will likely lose that one - he is all over the map - should have stuck with Ruto - from get go - till the end - but he can run to court like Wambora and keep going.

You're right Sakaja is soft boy despite the cunning, can't match Sonko or Kidero rough game. But unlike PK who is both soft and naive, Sakaja is not a fool. He is angling for Uhuru-Raila anti-Ruto coalition. There is solid chatter about Handshake ticket. That would attract serious competition and he can call in favors. He is suddenly putting in lots of effort to get noticed by Uhuru and Raila.

I doubt the Sakaja heading to ODM angle because there is no leverage there. Gema vote remain the big lever cause of 30% block. But preferably you need to be Jubilee non-Gema so you can pocket your own tribe to top up Gema. Without Sonko it a perfect opportunity for Sakaja. Being Kikuyu is a disadvantage and Jaguar the greenhorn is a non-starter.

Waititu impeachment  is just Ruto vs Uhuru dynamics. Otherwise the Judases would pocket some silvers each and save his corrupt behind. Mumbi Ngugi already sealed his fate and winning back the seat 2022 is very tough luck.

Ruto has no interest in Sonko and Waititu...the two have been hanging on his coattails for their selfish reasons. It's actually wise for Ruto to distance himself from them because they have baggage and add no value. Their problem is less about "TangaTanga" and more about their character and integrity...and it is not manufactured...it is real.  I don't think the state is "punishing" them. They are being "dumped" because it is the right time.

Murkomen and Cherargei's actions would disagree with you. They seek to defend him. The import of this is that associating with Tangatanga is bad omen.

Uhuru playing 2022 is big IF - a very big if - because Uhuru could simply quietly retire - leaving Raila and anybody who want to ride him at the mercy of a angry electorate.

Waititu will go home in short order...

In fact Ruto will have no stomach for a fight on this one. It will be a useless fight for a fellow who adds no value to his vote hunting.

Just like Babu for ODM, they will be happy if the courts get rid of him for them.

I also think Ruto should drop Waitutu. He no longer adds any value after he stole like a fool and has also become wish-washy. The same with Sonko. They add no value for now.

Let Kiambu sort him out.

And what "electorate" are angry? Only Kalenjin and a few Kikuyu are angry at Uhuru. Ruto proposition of extending RVGema to 2060 is repulsive to everyone outside Kikuyu and Kalenjin. They'd rather Uhuru continues as a payback for parliamentary.

You forget Kikuyus have not been able to win the governor seat of Nairobi although they consider it their birthright. Ruto's backing will not help anyone in Nairobi. Ruto has zero votes to contribute in Nairobi. Jaguar is a paper tiger. Can he even hold a speech?
