Looks like Ndii has discovered atheism.  Every new "convert" seems to have their own take.  Ultimately, the wise ones, realize, religion is part of us, even if you don't believe the underlying teachings.  You don't have to be crazy to be religious.  In fact the opposite might be arguable.

A 100 years of religion in Africa and hundreds of millions are still poor savages save for a few politically and religiously correct thugs and murderers.

The reality is that challenging religion is a loser in politics and for people in public services of any kind in the developing world and even in the developed.  This is because Religion is so deeply imbedded into people to the point that it is very difficult to deal with a majority of people once you  attack their religious beliefs.  Personally, I think that whether one believes in God or Not should be a personal matter and not something to proselytize, unless someone approaches one privately and ask you to convince them either way.  The balance is however titled towards religion and therefore while proselytizing religion is acceptable, atheist do not enjoy the same privileges. If you are an atheist and you have some other information that you think the public can benefit from, then I suggest you keep your atheism to yourself because it kind of steps on your other message to the public.

Ndii is just trying to kill boredom. Post handshake I think nobody needs him really. He has stirred hornets nest by arguing for legalization of weed(he is nowhere near the first ) and now he has taken on religion. But I think the assault is not idle; Ndii ,like most NASWA, hate Ruto with more passion than Uhuru. Since Ruto is the more religious of the duo, he is simply destroying his base.

I was with you about Ndii's recent outbursts until you started to insinuate that Ndii's atheism is inspired by his hatred of Ruto. Ruto's "religiosity" is more of a political persona which is contradicted by his propensity to steal land, tax payers money, adultery and murder, just to mention a few vices that he is closely identified with.  The majority of Kenyans are Christian protestants who tend to believe that someone who does not drink alcohol is a "born again Christian". This is dramatized by the fact that when one stops drinking folks usually assume "ameokoka". Ruto is such a person.  Additionally, Ruto's support or dislike is not inspired by his purported "religiousity".  The best example is our own  resident rutoist, aka, RV Pundit, who is much closer to Ndii's opinion on religion but is a rabid Ruto supporter.

My take is that Mwafrika is usually depressed with reality facing him- food insecure, poor health, inhumane slum habitation, expensive poor quality education, bleak future and all such to a point if you challenge his political tribal demigods and imported religious gods you have left him/her naked thus the fightback.

Life is all about hope and therefore when there is nothing to hope for, people turn to whenever they can find hope. Religion is the perfect place to find that hope when this life offers one nothing but misery.

I don't mean he woke up an atheist because of Ruto, all I'm saying is taking on this topic may be a thinly veiled attack on Ruto and his constituency. By the way from his tweets, I don't think he is an atheist as such.

I think I have maintained that part of why Ruto is vilified is he denied Baba his clearest stab at State House and for that most Baba fans will never forgive him. To this you may now add whatever else you fancy including Abby.

Also Ndii has it backwards.  A lot of the wealthy countries in Europe did became wealthy when they were still relatively religious.  A classic case of misusing statistics(of a transitive nature) to reach wrong conclusions.

All your theories and attempts at reading minds are thoroughly far-fetched. In a country as religious as Kenya, the decision to narrow down one man's attitude towards religion to exactly one religious person without so much as a hint in that comment suggesting it has any connection with that one or any particular religious person is projection per excellence. You're literally inventing stuff.

Troll. He made a series of tweets on the subject, and has been hard on Ruto's religiosity. This is not a matter of life and death so being wrong is not exactly going to bruise my ego

Saw a comment he makes on this. He talks of 'moral development' or something. The ones that embrace humanism climb out faster bla bla. But I think that's bad statistics. Confusing correlation and causation.

What he is generally right about is that religion tends to thrive in misery and poverty

History tells us that those who embraced religion in the early days of colonialism benefited immensely. Today's religion is corrupted. The pastor owns several helicopters while the servants cant even afford basic necessities. parishioners pray all night instead of using the time to spread the gospel by feeding the poor. Thirsty years later they are in the same position - poor. Its not religion rather selfish leaders whose vision is gain power and be noticeable.

This is exactly the point Ndii is putting across - that religion is for losers who have to depend on false hopes. For dirty poor Mwafrika the false hope is to push them through the undignified life while for wicked filthy rich thieves and murderers it serves as a cover for their evil and also a feel good element once they realize all those billions are vain after all those murders.

Life is all about hope and therefore when there is nothing to hope for, people turn to whenever they can find hope. Religion is the perfect place to find that hope when this life offers one nothing but misery.

Ndii is funded by Soros and NGOs whose activities involve subversion of religion and spread of lgbt.

His activities betray him.

Many societies have been build by religious people, who on achieving peak success abandoned religion and the only thing afterwards is complete self destruction.

I believe economic success in a country is a by-product of a religious and well organized society, starting at family level. But Ndii with his half-baked cooked propaganda now says lack of religion and LGBT is what leads society to economic success.

Soros is said to be a Jew. So is he an atheist?
Also this myths of Soros financing all NGOs in the world is a big joke. Does the man have endless finances? He is a billionaire but just one of the many.
