His new policies are stone killing two birds:

a) meant to drive Kenyans to point where they accept a referendum to write off some devolution offices and sneak in new positions such as prime minister.

b) Second, but not very important on his card now is debt repayment.

How is RV responding to referendum call? Will WSR campaign against it like he once did?

If obvious if the idea is to diminish the presidential authority just before WSR is about to get  a shot; it will be rejected; if the idea is to extend Uhuru regime; it also will be rejected. I would advice Ruto to not reject this - but have counter referendum - and have both voted in.

Allow PM - but deny Uhuru - by making it clearly whoever has served PORK can never become PM. Both will pass in referendum. Then give PM to Raila or whoever.

RV Item got carried away. The push is actually killing three birds with one stone.

a) meant to drive Kenyans to point where they accept a referendum to write off some devolution offices and sneak in new positions such as prime minister.

b) Second, but not very important on his card now is debt repayment.

c) Deny Mr X the presidency.

When (a) happens, then c) is obvious

It started with corruption war and now economic war

But then his legacy will be in jeopardy by 2022

This can only mean that he intends to continue beyond 2022 in order to make up for the said undoings

This is about Kenya's future and  not Ruto.   Ruto is viewed in most quarters as a huge part of the past problems.  He represents everything that is wrong with Kenya and is shrinking and becoming irrelevant everyday.  Change is what people need and that is why referendum is gaining momentum once again. Ruto is the shinning example of the shameful past those who voted for tano tena want to hide and forget.  Ruto is shrinking in size literally and figuratively every single day. By the time we get to 2022  nobody will even be talking about Ruto in relationship to the presidency.

RV Item, Uhuru's intentions became clear the very day he started unnecessarily sidelining and antagonizing Ruto. It's madness unless he has every intention of retaining power. There's no other way he'd go down that path. Not for 'legacy' or anything, I mean since when has kamwana shown 2 cares for lofty ideals? I doubt he'd start now. It's been obvious since the handshake that Uhuru wants to be president probably till 2032 or something like that. No way he'd entertain a referendum otherwise.

I think the handshake has proven that NARA (nusu-mkate) works after the winner-takes all under the new Katiba flopped miserable after the tribal manner (tyranny of numbers) it was implemented by ouruto in 2013.  The much maligned dejure nusu-mkate (NARA) worked for Kibaki and Rao and its defacto version is now working very well for Ouru and Raila.  All we need now is a referendum to make it dejure  and whoola! we have a homegrown system of governance to tweak and perfect as we mature as a country. Seriously,  political parties should be the next thing to go. I think a liberal democracy can thrive without political parties-we already have tribes for Christ sakes.

You are writing Ruto off at your own peril. If you have been around lately, you will realize that he is currently the undisputed front runner. He has traversed the entire country spreading his message. Even uhuru tangatanga label didnt dent his gusto.
