Raila vs Ruto
« on: August 18, 2018, 12:52:05 AM »
It's shaping as they move to define the debate. Unity & integrity vs performance & development. Ruto's big disadvantage is that Uhuru is assisting Raila's message by raining hard on corruption. At this funeral he lost 10-nil

The last 5yrs saw corruption rise to the level that it has triggered national security. Thats y Kenyatta has to act with Raila's blessing.

Pudit this is the reality - Ruto is not shoe-in and can easily be upstaged by Uhuru. Anyway Raila & Ruto are battle-hardened cunning foxes. I see this dog fight going all the way.

Ruto cannot win a fair contest. Ame naswa-it is just taking too long to sink in. It became very clear to Ouru that you can steal elections but you cannot govern with stolen votes.  You need real vote of confidence to govern especially to do hard things such as fighting corruption.  Ruto could not help with that, only Raila could and Ouru owes Raila right now.  People have tasted war against corruption and they like it. -Kenyans associate fighting corruption with handshake, ouru and Raila. Ruto now represents corruption and impunity whether he likes it or not.  Its therefore going to be very difficult for people to elect a president who is perceived to represent the worst past of Kenya. People vote for the future and Ruto maybe younger than Raila but he represent everything terrible about Kenya.  He is like a tire with a slow puncture. He has climbed down from aggressively and openly in- your-face -upende usipende openly campaigning for 2022 to now saying that politicians should focus on maendeleo. From now on he will no longer be setting the agenda. Once the building bridges initiatives committee has finished its job and made its recommendations, another set of debates will ensue and once again he will be an outsider.

Its either corruption as usual (Ruto still practices it) or a change (Raila embraces non corrupt leaders).
A no brainer.

Ruto has had Kibaki and/or Uhuru on his side 09-18 and this made people think he's very powerful and clever. He's finding now it's a mountain climb when your opponent is backed by PORK. He's no longer confident and composed like before when he thought he was the annointed successor. Raila especially with Uhuru's backing can beat Ruto hands down.

He is learning from Raila-using humor to bury and twist a hatchet at an opponents heart. He has to make the shift from being the mean spirited hatchet man at the bottom of the ticket to be the likeable guy at the top of the ticket.  In the end it all boils down to the coalition one is able to put together.

Raila is like an old limping hyena, no where to go but down politically but fully determined to stop Ruto by any means necessary. For those who care about this traitor they should advice him to pave way for young leaders with fresh ideas. Look at kibra under leadership of one Ken okoth and compare with the time Raila was the mp of the area....

You gotta give it to Raila the cat with nine lives. Coaching his new campaign as "building bridges" :) Ruto's head is still reeling from the handshake. How do you picture a retard like Madvd crafting such a challenge for Ruto?

Kenya needs Raila to keep Ruto's wanton greed and excesses in check. Ruto can lick Kenya to the bone. It's possible to build the country without looting... we're not asking for too much. Integrity and performance are not mutually exclusive. With the corruption war raging, Ruto's struggling to package a coherent message. Noone's bothered with his voodoo performance.

Ruto wanted to dominate everyone through bribery and the new Baba na Mama party Jubilee. The handshake is the proper vetting of his leadership. Once the looting network is uprooted let's see how many genuine followers he has compared to old Raila.

Lastly Raila should not step down for hapless Kalonzo or Madvd or anybody. Noone stepped down for Raila or Ruto, they conquered the Orengos and Biwotts. Leaders will emerge naturally and we can see Johos and Mutuas gradually stepping up. Anyone who needs people to step down for him is no leader worth following.

And patel are you saying Kibra has changed? Not been there in a long while and from the demolitions it's still a long eye stretch of squalor. We really shouldn't have humans in such a condition.

Kenya does not Raila the only thing Raila has done is to vindicate uhuru in the sense that Raila was stopping uhuru from working, that Raila was stopping uhuru from fighting corruption. Raila is a self seeker that cares about no one but Raila that will be in display when he throws Kalonzo, mudavadi and his other hangons under the bus in exchange for moi money people who never supported him......Joho and mutua are empty suits you have a better shot with Amason kingi and kivutha kibwana people with depth and wisdom.

Incremental changes, cdf is working in kibra, schools and clinics have been built and others are being built.
The mp has been voted as the best performing in terms of cdf several times. Youth and ingenuity that's what Kenyans need people like Ken okoth.

My point is noone will step down for Kingi and Kibwana either, people are attracted to the most pursuasive leader. Raila's hangers-on are not leaders but freeloaders. For example how is Weta faring now? Any new ideas from him?  Kingi has already surrendered to Ruto even before the whistle :( who does that!

Ruto needs a challenge that's what Raila is doing. He would actually sabotage the war on corruption if Raila didn't support it. Without corruption or sponsorship Ruto doesn't have much following. He needs a better campaign plan than bribery and threatening violence.

Of course Uhuru really supports Uhuru. He is propping Raila to scuttle Ruto's non-GEMA dominance. Once non-GEMA  is split fairly 50-50 Uhuru becomes the real kingmaker. I don't know why you think GEMA cannot support Raila? That's a false belief you have same as saying Ruto is trustworthy. Luos are a better coalition partner because a fallout is just political compared to genocidal Kalenjin.
