I've noticed in Europe lots of black people who did not grow up in Africa disidentifying with it. I know one White South African who left at 16 who speaks of "them" and "us" when speaking of Africa abd even SA itself: He considers himself more Belgian than South African despite moving to Europe only for education then staying on. But I know another, a white South African chick, who proudly associates with both SA and Africa despite having one Dutch parent and moving to the Netherlands also towards the end of her teen years.

Like I've said before, my impression is that being from Africa is much worse for you than being Black over here. So I understand the point the French are making to Trevor. But he has only lived in the States and just a bit in the UK so I guess he doesn't get it. But as an African who proudly associates myself with the continent, I understand his confusion. Apparently some of those players themselves were upset about that and similar jokes after the French won the worlf cup. Most of them are 1st generation French citizens and were born in France.

France is racist and classist to core. All stories I have heard from Kenyan women who have worked their as maids while in aupair program have told me horror stories of thier hosts being brutes.

 My cousin who did her masters there told me she got so discriminated in the dorms that she took the first flight out of France when she won a green card lotto.

She told me that her host wife was a bitch out of 16th century.

If France was bad - how comes these immigrant are able to progress. I don't see that happening in US. France assimilation policy is to be admired. France gave us freedoms & human rights - something Americans try to own. They are not or were not as brutish as British or Americans. France generally are fine as long as you speak French & integrate.

I tend to like the concept of being french - it not about race - it more about culture. French obviously don't tolerate people who don't learn their language and integrate.

They haven't progressed. These soccer players are elite players. They got talent.even in America of Jim crow you couldn't stop talents like that of Ali and Jackie Robinson. You see in afrwnce if you are a negro and citizen and your butthole speaks french you be rotting in the ghettos or if you are lucky and have money you can join the rich french in hoodwinking everyone.

America with all her flaws is the land of opportunity. Once you are a citizen or green card holder you are equal in most aspects. My dollar will get me anywhere in this fucking place. Most Americans top not companies are now like Un everyone is at the table eating this fatass American dream

What don't you see happening in the USA that is happening in France. USA already has a black president. USA had black athletics representing it at the heights of jim crow. Racism is not going anywhere so long as you have black people and white folks living side by side but sometimes I do not know what is worse, the tribalism in Kenya or the racism over here.
