What Jubilee did the last 5yrs is nothing but trans-formative.
1) SGR - single biggest infra investment in kenyan history delivered ahead of time +cost.
2) 10K roads - mostly low seal that are being built all over kenya.
3) World best electrification rate - that moved access from electricity from 27% to now 70% plus.
4) Air transport - now you can fly to Kisumu with 22 dollars.

The Looting didn't stand in the way of delivering world class infrastructure, well not in any serious way. The looting happening is small time. Our budget this year is 2.5 trillion. So 10B if it's get looted is not even 1% of the budget. 1% of the budget is 25B. We still have long way to get to 25B scandals...and that would still mean we remain with 99% of the budget.

Who cares about this award when he and his cronies are looting the country dry?

Btw, last time I checked most experts concluded at least a third of the Kenyan budget is looted. You call that peanuts?

Maybe 1/3 of development budget; which is 1/3 of 1/3 of 1/3. Otherwise 1/3 of kenya budget is used to pay debts; more than half used to pay salaries - teachers alone take nearly 200B. Yeah I'd estimate than 10% if development budget is stolen.

I have never bought the 1/3 story too - you need 5 annual Goldenbergs for that. Or 80 NYS scandals per year. If 1/3 was looted there would be no 5% growth when the African average is 2%. During the August elections I saw nice roads and flyovers everywhere in Nairobi, Sagana-Nanyuki and Mombasa. The improvement is visible. Uhuru has beat Kibaki in infrastructure... by leveraging Chinese soft loans liberally.

The looting is small time but it's cancerous and needs to be cut out. Media should continue exposing the madness before it baloons into a tumor.
