Uhuru the sissy need to sign the amendment to election laws
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:03:45 AM »
Everywhere you go - NASA greatest beef is with Non-nonsense WSR - they think Uhuru is such a sissy who can be bullied around by Raila. Uhuru should let Ruto ran things this last month - and confine Raila Odinga to political dustbin. The only thing standing btw him and new fresh term is some few compromised commissioner(s) and Wakora 4. Deal with them. Otherwise Uhuru is one of most popular leaders ever elected in this country - who won his re-election by whopping 54%!

That's not news. It's why claims Ruto was played by Gema are comical. We just need the elections finalized - and we can see if the clamor for change was for posterity - am convinced it's all selfish and that our reforms have hit marginal utility.

I got convinced immediately after NARC won in 2003 that all clamor for change was driven by selfish tribal & personal quests for power. This is going to be never ending quest. Right now after 2010 constitution - it way too early to talk about political reforms. We have all systems in places. We just need someone like Ruto to steady the ship and re-focus the attention on bread-n-butter issues.

He is trying to be nice to foreign diplomats - whose leverage over him is next to nothing.Even after he was taken to ICC- his recent victory was annulled -  - his political instincts are still sub-par. We have to endure five years of his indecision until WSR get to power and steady this kenyan ship for 10 years.

Well indeed - that is why Ruto has always wanted the sissy to become PORK - he knows he lack the depth & energy for heavy slog required to ran the nations. It works best for them.

Raila could easily have pulled this strategy with Kibaki - let him make economic & figurehead role - while Raila sleightly run the politics - and deal with the Kiraitus backstage. Instead of upstaging the old man him live live.

I think it's close to the chest. There is no rift with Ruto that the grapevine is saying.

That's just a political strategy, NASA thinks very little of Ruto and by BTW, Ruto is not running anything.  Its like putting a child on your lap while you are driving and letting the child think that its the one really driving the car when we all know the child can be removed at any time.

You've been wailing here for the last month about Ruto - and so is every NASarite I know of - Obviously Ruto is the man who has consigned Raila to periphery of our politics. He has nailed NASA on the wall - it Uhuru just need to finish the job the next 2 weeks. And that I think is the frustration that Jubilee are facing. We got Raila where we need - finish the damn job mr Uhuru. You've been given laws to fix the small issues regarding 26th election (Raila withdrawal, Chebukati resigning, SCOK annulling election) - after which the next hurdle is SCOK (which parliament has dealt with by amending the laws) - and Uhuru is home & dry.

In short Uhuru should sign the new laws ASAP, we go for election, and we get back to normalcy. NASA can burn their cities down if they want.

From layman; What if he wants to assent just before the election to avoid legality challenges and injunctions?

And if Chebukati resign before that - we could be in quagmire. He need to play the judiciary game - if they get injunction in Nairobi- get a counter-injunction in Malindi. Managing African country or third world country require very strong leadership. You cannot afford to equivocate or show signs of weakness like Uhuru or Kibaki. You've to be a strong man like Moi or Museveni or Kagame. In Ruto I see a strong leader who'll stabilize the country - you don't entertain a bully like Raila who despite losing in fair n square manner is trying to hold the country ransom - you crush him. This is not first world country where big issues is gay rights!

The westerners have intelligence to know the reform chants are brinkmanship. They have aligned with GoK for that reason.  In a country with no political prisoners, new katiba and an independent judiciary...  civil society... a PORK who can't even appoint judges unlike Trump or May - they are fairgame for business in this open society. Kenya is ripe for takeoff - every AfDB sees us as an emerging market - with picking fast growth.

We don't need more reforms - which include Chiloba & Muhati & Safran - individuals instead of principles. Reforms have hit marginal utility. This is now BS.

All that was strategic and it has been overtaken by events.    Ruto was the problem because he refused to accept that the rigging game was up. He continued to insist that the rigging must continue and therefore we had to train our fire on him.  Ouru's hands were tied because he had promised Ruto the presidency together with the rigging machine. The pressure to put a wedge between the two had to be applied elsewhere. Nusu mkate was a red-herring concocted by Ruto. NASA would rather be in the opposition and wait this government out than be a partner in government with someone like Arap Mashamba who is the most corrupt in this modern Kenya.  Where do we go from here.  Renegotiate our rules of engagement.  The first one is true and fair elections then change our system of government to suit a  country like Kenya.  We either need a parliamentary system in whole or a hybrid but we cannot have this winner take all mongrel. We thought that devolution would solve problem but Ouruto's cantankerous, boisterous, exclusive tribal  rule has proven otherwise.  Once the country is stabilized politically then we can integrate and grow economically.  If that fails then secession is our plan B.
