He was so pathetic that I pitied him. But Gideon was worse so you never know

The plan Pundit is for Muhoho to take over from Uhuru. Then he will hand over to Jomo.

Ruto is not anywhere in that plan. He is was useful but that is over.

Yeap - he had to read kiswahili off the phone. How do these people raise their kids? This different btw Mwafrika and Bazungu - Bazungu really work hard to understand languages wherever they go - and that is why they dominate the world.

I am pretty sure you're privy to Uhuru 30 yr plan. Congratulations. Now get back to work.

Leadership can be opportunity but is mostly talent - natural gift - the kind Ruto has. Gideon had all the advantages see where it got him. Pedigree is not enough - PK & Madvd come to mind - if you're not ABLE you're going nowhere in competitive democracy.

Obviously a dude who can't speak Swahili - sheng - and mother tongue - is a non-starter. Uhuru is not going to "hand over" power to Ruto... it's actually payback of political debt - there is no comparison with this kid he is supposed to mentor :) There will be many new heroes by 2030.

What use is kiswahili? His stay in Kenya is temporarily. After Uhuru loses these or retires these kids will live in Kenya but not interact with Kenyans .a language is good if it helps you gain employment or business opportunity

Anyway raila kids can whip dholuo vibaya

With the kind of environment that Jubilee are pushing for, this chap does not need to be popular in order for him to "win" the "will of the people".

Infact, he's already "won" a landslide by virtue of his heritage.  So if his father is Kamwana, what does this make him?  Kamwana's Kamwana?

I was reading the Yurvan book - History of Mankind - and he makes a startling observation that I personally I have seen - Wazungu are keen to learn the languages - and it one reason why their dominance compared to previous greater civilization has been the most perverse and most intense. How the hell do you stay in Kenya without learning to speak in swahili - those kids must live in some bubble.

I mean if he didn't speak Kikuyu - I'd understand but here Uhuru has failed. The reason why Uhuru has suceeded compared to say Gideon Moi is because he speak fluent kikuyu and swahili despite being son of Kenyatta. Jomo did a good job.

Look at Moi - he spent so many billions trying to buy his son the presidency - but the guy is so hopeless - he had to learn swahili - then Kalenjin - and now communicate at the same level as 3 yr old Kalenjin if not worse.

i think it has much to do with the family and the role the mother plays,Moi divorced lena and was so much focused with politics,I think uhuru too has been absent from the family from 2000 when he joined politics full time while the kids were too small...i dont think margaret too is so much into culture, she is more european type.

Without Prejudice.

we live in a decadent age. Probably have do so for a while now.

I have a friend who was lucky to be posted to family stations all his career. His kids speak over 14 languages fluently - some he has no idea when they picked them - I guess from the nannies and in the school playing grounds.

He refused to send his kids to the "international" schools and instead sent them to local schools. From him I learned to hate elite schools, tuition and the rest of the crap. I can say that is one man who has taken with him a bit of the culture he encountered everywhere.

All well and good.  I know a guy who's father went to all sorts of international postings.  Today, the chap is suffering from all kinds of personality disorders and has no childhood friends.... all his relationships are very temporary and he's a rubbish dad...

Kids need some degree of settlement during their formative years...

The life can be very unrealistic and its upto you to protect your kids. If you pamper them and make them feel playing with State House spoilt brats is the way to go then you have a problem. My friend decided to allow kids to be free but he and wife were also very strict and hands on.

What WSR did was terrible montoring. He should not have let that boy go out there and make an ass of himself.  WSR should have told the kid to memorize those two lines and help him practice the delivery before he let him go in front of the camera. How long does it really take to memorize those two lines unless all his brains cells are already dead at that tender political age.

The son knows zero swahili - but seem WSR is willing to mentor him? And even possibly hand him power in 2032?

Agreed
The Kenian Negro is intimidated by those exotic accents. This social experiment was a lesson on how not to mentor.

But as I said, negro has a long way to go. With effort, he can learn both...will take lots of effort given his age. Before then, he should NEVER attempt to give a public speech
