Wow - 35 years since RCBowen...time

Dr Masinde Phd, Msc, JD, M.Phil sibuol Mbrrrrrrrrrrr was quite the character
Also known as Jaluth Masoko and Mboya Rusinga
He used to have crazy catfights with Oloo and the two of them were rumored to be gay lovers (since they both had been in jail at some point) who had fallen out.
He started his terrorism in the kids-playground Mashada and quickly transitioned to RCB where he wreaked similar havoc
I miss Mungu Ngai Pan, Asali, Stocko (formerly Nyumba), Prof wa Louisiana (forgot his RCB handle), 5thglg wa Paree, WaKwish, Toli/Tolstoy the philosopher - I'm sure he is lurking on this forum. I also miss my buddy Garibaldi Wa Gatheru whose impeccable wit  and storos were hard to match. Mil Polo wa Dallas was also very entertaining.
I also remember how Evian, the effeminate economist from Canada, who was a johnny-come-lately to RCB came with mingi steams, spewing his Toronto brand of socialist economics sqweeeeeh on anyone who cared to listen. Woe betide you if you challenged him.
I also remember how mlungu letaa Rich born in Tenwek, Rift Valley would sometimes get annoyed at one thing or another and vent on us about how server hosting fees were high
I think majority of RCB'rs were abroad and returned home where they went offline. I still see 5th posting pics of the house she is jengaring squaaaa on the Kenyan building forums after having relocated from Mayotte
Very nice memories.

Papa F. Nimesema! We had some run ins with papa eff and other monderators like mra chake who got outed towards the dying days of rcbowen. The onry cool monderator was mil polo.

Oloo (rip  O:-)) hated it when we called him nyangi, whoever the hell came up with that moniker for him. As for masinde, that nguy was full of bile. There is no way he could have disappeared quietly from the internet.

That's the name..Papa F!
hehehehe@ Nyangi. You were one of those who harassed him with that name to smithereens. RIP indeed.
Oloo's biggest handicap was that he wore his emotions on his sleeve. He was hypersensitive and irascible when it came to any view contrary to his.
But his most bitter enemy was Njamriki a.k.a Natty Dread wa Amsterdam; yet another jailee who was rumored to have spent half his life in and out of the can in Holland.
Njamriki always had "a small question" for Oloo. Njamriki pia had a short fuse beyond a certain point of harrassment. I remember biting at his cyber-heels until he posted his Amsterdam passport on the forum  He branded me Katoto ka Celelac when he got truly annoyed

Does anyone remember how Oloo had an online podcast called the Dunia show where he introduced his son Sankie (Sankara) that he had with a Canadian lady to the world? The show would start with a long episode of lingala or reggae tululululuuuuuuuu before Oloo gave the mealy-mouthed urchin world a piece of his Marxist mind.
Folks also forget that Migush was once an RCBr. In fact RCB is where he  cut his political teeth, got famous and eventually got plucked into political service by the former PM, whence he turned into an unmitigated disaster.
Other RCBrs who went home and joined politricks include Benji Ndolo, who conned Kwiinyans in atlanta out of millions with his "All about the Benjamins" real estate company, and Ngujiri Wambugu. And what happened to our buddy Poor Kaloi. Both audacityofhope and sema sound like him.

And who remembers the Jimmy Gathu show (forgot the name) that was on radio in Kwiinya and he at one point was taking questions posted on RCB as well as call ins.
That's where my good buddy Njamba earned his fame with his "Maney flom ablod" call in comment
And who remembers Frank Mwaniki (RIP) - the Chairman of KCA; Kenyan Community Hamblod, calling in drunk to said show lol!

RCB was truly a hall of fame both online and offline.

Those surely were the days!

Seems just like yesterday yet that was over 15, 20 years ago!

Time is a beast man

Young'un was a piece of work, almost staged a Moderators Coup triggering instant growth of grey hair on the Kentucky's man head ..Njamba and his sporadic manic episodes, for days he would unleash wrath on invisible enemies, the only anti-dote was passage of time. Stocko was a straight shooter, fearless and honest to a fault..Mwari and her tales of Skinny dipping in turbulent rivers of Nyeri.. and that gifted writer who had an axe to grind with Mutahi Kagwe and his wife, thoroughly enjoyed sampling his 'digitals'...Jaribu ..a harmless Bukusu man hellbent of riding his bicycles in Texas , Mil Polo .. he livened the place with 'historical' gems, Papa F.. enjoyed reading his Kitale Memoirs, a fellow of tremendous girth, he enjoyed gulping gallons of goat head soup.. Pundit..Brilliant chap , he hid under the bed for days when PEV erupted, , it took collective coaxing of his Kirinyaga relatives to convince him the coast was clear, a true joke of a warrior

Life is a strange thing, man. One day you're spending lots of time engaging someone either offline or online and as the years pass by you lose touch and they just somehow drift away. Baadaye you hear they went six feet deep. Remember that Wakina Dengu and Mwari were in their 40s or early 50s back then. Which would make them about 65+ by now. Way past retirement age. I remember how Mwari used to say that "mechi" with her Luhya hubby was best way after all the kids had grown up and left the nest. Sad to hear WW died. Hii maisha ni fupi blathee. These days I don't take even the simplest of things for granted.

hehehe your speech betrays you. I'm almost certain I know who you were on our beloved RCB but I will not "expose" you for now. Speaking of "exposing," this was the weapon of choice for many, once patience and unrequited logic had reached its limit for some. That's how we got to know Papa F was a prof at LSU and that Masinde as well as Njamriki had both been in Jail. One in Los Angeles and the other in Amsterdam. Yes, I do remember Jaribu always whining about a leg injury he had experienced that was impeding his movements. Yet, funnily enough. he kept on riding. Speaking of riding, who remembers Sakokwabako - the mysterious middle aged wealthy retiree - who would regale us with tales of his daily biking routine while the rest of us were busy frying our minds, obsessed with making as much moolah as possible even at the expense of our time and health in some cases. He loved riding on rolling hills ridluuuuu, summertime especially. He inspired me big time. Only now, many years later, do I understand some of the things he talked about regarding life away from work and money. When we're young we chase money and earthly accolades as if we have all the time in the world. When we get those things they are anticlimactic and we realise we wasted a lot of years chasing things that do not bring happiness long term. Yet we can never go back. Youth is truly wasted on the young. Isatragedy. lol@ the  "tremendous girth." His younger blathee is now a big shot notorious skirt chaser with swarms of the Azziads of the world shaking it tuntu tanta for his delight. Whatever happened to Kuze the muhindi Canadian? And my buddy Kiri of the "mahendeleo tupu" during the Kibaki economic boom fame. Toli would trash us live live by calling it Maendeleo Poo Poo. He also used to call Nkooks "Kuku". Pole blo for reminding you of that. Toli was a truly interesting character. And whatever happened to that lady called mami something. The feminist with the crazy ideas. Hamilikwa is truly a fun place to live in while young. I remember meeting several of these gels, these gels, these gels I tells ya just from smooth talking them onRCB and  Kenyaniyetu web chat (I must be the only one who remembers that). There was one who catfished me ritru bit ritru bit but big time during my late colle years. She sent me a glowing pic that made her look like a supermodel. You must remember this was before filters and AI cams, buit somehow she did it. Like a moth to a flame I drove halfway across the nation from Cali in my car to go hook up with her. A memorable ride past Vegas and beyond. Jamming to my zikis, getting several speeding tickets, eating cheap takeout, sleeping in some funny motels, and best of all ; experiencing the Grand Canyon (truly amazing). That was one of the most amazing drives of my life. When I finally arriving at her digs, you guy, I was truly disappointed when she didn't match her pic. Isasadthing. But the trip alone was worth it. Now that youth and sense of adventure is gone. I also miss Miami where I lived with my mamacita for several years very much. And ATL; the only city in the Union that I loved to visit but would never want to live in permanently.  Those days will never be found again. Hebu we start ordering our coffins in advance before we go South like everyone else!
