This article was prepared by the NIS. Their new push is to have Mudavadi named flagbearer. They have their own reasons for such a desire considering they are intent on having Uhuru reelected.
Several media houses were approached to publish the story but declined. The Ethnic Rag Media management accepted it but ran in to headwinds when the journalist assigned ( a feisty female) decided to verify the information in it such as hearing Mudavadi out. She actually contacted Mudavadi's personal assistant who denied it - even though it was meant to support his boss' candidacy. The Feisty lady almost got fired on the spot but they thought twice about it when it leaked to Social Media.
We got the story well before it was published by The Star.
The same period saw the flooding of the social media with posts by people with Luhya names decrying the poor treatment Mudavadi was getting from ODM / Raila. The problem is that Itumbi and his retinue from Mount Kenya have not quite mastered the geography behind Luhya and Western names in General. That is why they sometimes mistake Luhyas for Luos and Kisiis for Luos etc. So why would people with Bukusu names ignore Wetangula and go all out for Mudavadi when the reality is that Bukusu are fighting for Weta?
At the same time Mudavadi seems to have acquired very heavy pockets recently. With two to three helicopters he has traversed Western and Nyanza even making it to Kuria and Narok in one swoop. The MPs following him appear to have also benefitted from his largesse lately displaying sudden opulence. This point at some project within NASA.
We know and still remember how Mudavadi ran an insurgent presidential campaign he knew would go nowhere for the sole purpose of aiding Uhuru. Though he denied it and went as far as to participate in a stage managed spat involving Demons (Mademoni!) he is on record as the second Presidential candidate to "concede" defeat to Uhuru even before there were any results showing such a defeat had taken place. It was all part of a carefully laid plan of applying pressure on CORD / Raila to give it up and accept being robbed.
He beat Peter Kenneth and Wavinya Ndeti to a post-election pact with Uhuru. This came three days after the election from a man who had been screaming that he had been raped by Uhuru and Ruto as they ate his mandazis at his Riverside home.
I simply don't trust Mudavadi as flagbearer or DP. Like I have said again and again, should Raila bring him on the ticket, he will enter NASA in the rear door and I will leave in the front. Needless to say that will be the end of NASA. Regardless the who idea of having a movement that could in the least effect cosmetic changes to Kenya and perhaps pursue a half-hearted fight against corruption would have ended in birth.
So let's wait and see what happens.
