Maybe Joho is not so popular over there.  Just a thought.  Why should we care about their tribe?

What other selling points do our politicians really have?

Integrity? Vision? Qualifications? Humility? Intelligence? Common sense?

So tribe it is.

Mpeketoni is a Kikuyu enclave in the Coast Region. The tribe is important because it points to the ethnic nature of the incident. Had they acted on any other issue or principle and not tribe, I would not mention tribe.

The problem with Kenya is that people think and act tribe; but they seem to secretly agree to pretend that they don't ( think tribe and think tribe). Woe unto he who honestly points out that little shameful fact!

Watch the video that Empedecles posted and obtain some interpretation service if your Gikuyu is limited.

Kenyans of all tribes mistreat political opponents, even those from the same tribe - it's a national culture.   Did Joho say something to upset the Kikuyu in particular?

Do they? I thought this kind of thing - stones etc - ended as was replaced with regular heckling. It's only Mpeketoni I see stones being thrown.

About Joho saying something: Do you know of what he said to grant the Mpeketoni the excuse to throw stones at him? I assumed they are unhappy because he is opposing Uthamaki.

kamwana was once attacked with shoes in Migori as he tried to launch an anti-Malaria campaign.  This kind of thing happens, though usually under more explicable circumstances than an anti-Malaria drive.

The reason you think heckling is the limit, is also the reason I am thinking Joho must have said something, I don't know what.  It could also be that those folks are just attacking him because he is not Kiuk, which I find hard to believe.

None of what I am saying, is an attempt to excuse the behavior.

Termie

The prevailing opinion is that Jubilee is sponsoring these incidents either against itself or the opposition. They want retaliation so they can employ the "violent" label on Opposition. It hasn't worked because nobody has taken bait. Their violence edifice in Kakamega run by Washiali has disintegrated.
