Stop your propaganda. Please Let people buy helicopters that take them everywhere. I should sell my piece of land and buy one too.

May be it is propaganda. There are people who blinded support this regime and anytime you say anything true that is critical of the government they throw last night's puke in your face to spell the word "NASA Propaganda".

Has anybody ever considered what will happen when the country is unable to service her debts? It happened to Zambia once and the results were food riots and a near coup. Kaunda would never recover from that leading to his loss in elections in 1990.

Today I believe we have some European countries in or near debt crisis.  There are carry-overs from the Latin American debt crisis of the 80s and 2000s.

Could someone calculate for me the difference between our Revenue and debt servicing costs over the entire maturity period? Can Kenya keep basic services like health and education going when we hit the ceiling?

I know Uhuru thinks oil will repay all the debts and there will be no problem. He is simply forgotten that the oil dependent economies in Africa appear to suffer most when there is a price slump.

Clearly we have an duty to get rid of Jubilee if this country has to survive.

Omollo. When you are having fun with other peoples money, it is the best thing ever. Until, the day after. I think the current services rate is 20% of GDP, and next month interest rates will start to bite all over the world. The wise ones will prevail comfortably.

Agreed 101%. Jubilee is absolutely incompetent and useless.

Has anybody ever considered what will happen when the country is unable to service her debts? It happened to Zambia once and the results were food riots and a near coup. Kaunda would never recover from that leading to his loss in elections in 1990.

So what are NASA's policies to reverse this inevitable slide? What are they proposing to do? What are the qualifications of the main NASA players, when it comes to implementing sound policies? Their track records? Their attempts through parliament?

Could someone calculate for me the difference between our Revenue and debt servicing costs over the entire maturity period? Can Kenya keep basic services like health and education going when we hit the ceiling?

NASA wants the leadership. Have they addressed your above questions? If yes, could you provide their proposed solutions on the way forward? A plan?

I know Uhuru thinks oil will repay all the debts and there will be no problem. He is simply forgotten that the oil dependent economies in Africa appear to suffer most when there is a price slump.

So how will NASA pay back the debt? What policies have they specifically lined up to deal with these debts? Taxation measures?

Clearly we have an duty to get rid of Jubilee if this country has to survive.

Agreed.

But not with simpletons.

Whoever wins in 2017 between NASA and Jubilee will be facing a very hard time ahead.

Neither of the political coalitions are ready to face Kenyans and tell them the truth.

There will be need for genuine and far reaching austerity. Salaries in government would have to go down drastically. Some of the elective positions would have to become voluntary or the holders keeping their salaries from previous jobs.

We are not a country that can tolerate such austerity. There is no culture of sacrifice. So frankly I don't have much hope.

Lol...
You live in Utopia land. Kenyans will not sacrifice anything until the whole system collapses. Time to keep borrowing. A helicopter for every governor. But I agree, good times are behind...

No. they'll be busy celebrating their "mandate", by dancing for us, in victory rallies.

Neither of the political coalitions are ready to face Kenyans and tell them the truth.

They don't give a sh!t, as long as their snouts are firmly in the feeding trough. That's why they're in politics.

Not from the leadership and the way politics is structured in Kenya. Even if we were to "enjoy" an Arab spring, nothing will come out of it. Pessimistic? We had one in 2002. Where did it take us?

We are not a country that can tolerate such austerity. There is no culture of sacrifice. So frankly I don't have much hope.

We worship thieves, respect them, vote them into seats of power. Then we expect them to change their thieving ways? Excuse me but  :D.

Again I mention, none of the top political honchos ever rat each other out, they're into the systematic looting of Kenya together. It's an us (starving wanainchi) against them (thieving a$$holes) situation. Until we realize that and move to change our thinking, how we choose our representatives, not just replace them with new hungrier thieves, not much is gonna happen.

But there's a problem: we're too divided, into our ethnic cocoons, into an Us against Them mentality.

So yeah.

That's pretty funny ... the idea of Kenyan politicians actually stating what they would do if they got into power or what they would do differently if they retained power.   Still, to be fair to them, it's not as if the citizens really care.

Can you recall Wendy's "where's the beef ?!?"?  That's the first question Kenyan politicians and their followers want answered.    The second question is, "How do we get in there, or get our man in there, and eat without lifting a finger".

Anyways, back to your question ... here are a couple of NASA "principals" selling their policies (?) to the citizens:

Kenya can and ought to borrow more. It just have to borrow quality loans. At favourable interest rates and repayment period. GoK is collecting more and more taxes - meaning it ability to repay is improving - and for well diversified economy - we don't have to worry. Countries that have to to worry are those that depend on one commodity or sector - and if it goes kaboom like oil or copper - they cannot repay.

Kenya gov collects nearly 20% of it's GDP - nearly 15B USD now - from so many diversified sources - it can and should borrow more - and invest in long term infrastructure.

It's not the quality of the loans which matter.

It's what is done with the loans which matters, as well as with the 20% of GDP collected.
