I'd also like to state Brynn and I were not behind it. I wear mascara and heels and don't have the lethal in me to do something absolutely awful like that. We welcome all with open arms. Welcome and welcome!  ;D

Lol! Talk about perfect timing. Glad this site was up yesterday else I would not have been aware of it. I see NattyDread and TRV are mods here, that's great. Might I suggest Terminator be added on this particular sub forum as well? I don't know where you had intended to place him but I think here is good and here is where balance is most needed.

Nipate was a nice qirky little place with an interesting mix of people. I'm grateful we have another option, though.

I don't like the idea of moderation; i just hope we will allow all opinions to flourish and self-regulation to thrive.

I think we should agree on what isn't allowed, spam, porn or whatever Google doesn't want on the site. Maybe we see how we do as we go along, maybe in future we only have very few/limited number of trusted mods who only delete the spam etc but not contrary opinions....

Maybe we need a "report the mod" feature or a discuss moderation sub-forum to curb those who might try to run away with it.... 8)

Kababe

Say you are scared of Omollo being a mod.

1. I have indicated my negative views on being one
2. You have no reason to fear omollo. All these people you see here and at Nipate have at some point exchanged with me. We disagree on issues and agree on the same. Ask Veritas: We disagreed and later agreed. I cannot guarantee we shall continue to agree;

3. Take a capuccino
... [the ICC case] will be tried in Europe, where due procedure and expertise prevail.; ... Second-guessing Ocampo and fantasizing ..has obviously become a national pastime.- NattyDread

Omollo, hapo umenoa. I am just scared of excessive moderation or the appearance of partisanship, those are the two things the lack of which helped nipate to thrive as a vibrant community. Veritas has done a good job in balancing the two concerns which most of us share and the need to protect the site itself from being banned which requires some moderation on some level. I'm much more comfortable with things as they stand now...
