Are we saying that his tweets have merit?   Mind got screaming bloody murder at Ruto didn't save Juma.   In other places,  publicly accusing your suspected,  sorry alleged murderer is proper life insurance.

I doubt he knows anything we don't. He is a PROTEST (not even proper investigative) journalist. He put on a show for Hillary sometimes back. I think picking a cause instead of throwing mud at powerful people would do him some good. Environment, human rights, etc. Corruption or general impunity is too murky and dangerous for a little-known activist.

He's more powerful than Ruto outside of Kenya. People listen to him abroad.

The fact Ruto wants to sue is evidence the government tails prominent twitter handlers and obviously tailed Jacob Juma.

Ruto threatening to sue is what he thinks is a clever publicity stunt to cover the fact he's the dirty right hand guy orchestrating extrajudicial killings, leaving a similar trail to the heinous crimes he committed during the genocide.

If indeed Ruto does sue for more than just slander, then Boniface can equally counter sue presenting evidence of these continual extrajudicial killings. I'm sure the international community would be very interested in the evidence.

After being  indicted and standing trial for CRIMES AGAINST Humanity (displacing half million people, killing 1,000 and raping many more); Ruto image is beyond being damaged even if he was found with bloodied hands just after murdering someone. Ruto has to tell lawayers trying to make money off him to find some real work.

Ruto should not give charlatans like Boniface Mwangi the milleage they so crave. Ruto treated Juma right. He ignored him.

As politician...you should never sue to libel or defamation..it part of the job. If the police or DPP think..it sometimes criminal (demeaning public office)...then they should prefer criminal charges..but for a top politician you'd be in court every day with civil suits.

JJ did seem to be on a sort of journey to perhaps redeem himself or expose these guys.  Reasons hard to understand because he was part of that shadowy world.  He kept a spotlight on the Eurobond heist.  That seems to have been quietly shelved with his death.  Apart from the ocassional mention by people like Edward Ouko telling it to the birds.

As Pundit says, image means nothing in Kenya as long as you are a tribal big man.  Ruto has already been caught stealing land from PEV victim.

Courts in Kenya are used by the elite to either protect themselves or silence pesky "busybodies". Boniface will most likely be gagged by a court order while the case drags on and on and on......
