Its a huge market and its great that the government is tilting its focus towards ethiopia. Already kenyan banks have been given a greenlight to enter the Ethiopian market. The marsabit moyale rd is almost complete. The cheap hydro I believe seimens won the tender to construct the transmission line. Our light industries might get a market for their goods. And this will also work as counterbalance to Tanzania which is increasingly engaging in protectionism.

Yeap. Our companies should not be afraid to venture to Ethiopia. I think some kenyan flower companies have already opened up branches there.
We also need to stop harrasing and arresting ethiopia in Kenya. They should be free to move around.

I wonder if Ethiopia can be convinced to become part of East Africa?

I agree on harassment of ethiopians its unnecessary and for the most part its just lowly policemen trying to extract bribes. In eastleigh ethiopians control matatus # 6 route , so they're entrepreneurial. In hurlingham they've setup relatively high end  restaurants. These are people we should be welcoming. Now that ethiopia is part of comesa that's good start which hopefully will lead to inclusion to EA. There's no reason why south sudan is in EA and Ethiopia isn't.
If we start seriously trading Marsabit will be a town and county to watch.

Uhuru seem to have signed a pipeline deal with Ethiopia. It make sense for Ethiopia to diversify -overdependence on Djibouti is risky.

It also makes sense for Kenya to diversify from unpredictable Museveni.

Right. I think the bigger the merrier. Hope the Brits are not stupid today to quit EU. We all should be working towards a future where our grandchildren will be free to move, study, work and do anything anywhere. Besides I think this is inevitable as the world become one global village.
