Who Gave Nkaissery Power to Direct and Order The Police?
« on: September 25, 2015, 07:32:34 PM »
His powers as Internal Security CS are limited to policy. Only the DPP is allowed to direct the Police. Nobody else! Not even Uhuru Kenyatta. This is what you get when you appoint a buffoon suffering pecuniary embarrassment to a post he wishes to use to cash in on corruption.

I also thought so. He is undermining that malnourished chap with a big kofia ( IG of police , can't remember his name)

Precisely. I was also suprised. Police and DPP long surrendered their independence. Just like EACC. A mockery of the constitution. Somebody should go to court.

I do not think Nkaissery understands where his powers begin or ends. This new constitution is a challenge for the folks who cut their teeth in leadership during the Jomo/Nyayo years.  It simply does not make sense to them.

Or they simply don't care. The main problem..they set a bad precedent...and we soon will end up in the same situation as before the new constitution.

Nkaiserry is a soldier.  I wouldn't be surprised if the intricacies of constitutions and independent institutions are lost on him.

Looks like only small portion of the judiciary ain't under control/direction of Office of the President and specifically State House
