KFC had outlets in Nairobi in the 1970s.    Presumably they think the market there for junk food is now better.

That was not real KFC...you must be talking about the joints along moi avenue that served oily chips. Many global companies are pitching tent in Kenya esp in fast food, supermarkets and tech...an indicator that we are turning the corner. Folks have more disposable income. At least in Nairobi and major towns. This is good signs...FDI flowing in.

They called themselves KFC, had the same logos etc., served similar food, and were considered franchises by the parent company.   That seems quite "real".

And they weren't on Moi Avenue: one was in Westlands, and another on Kenyatta Avenue.
