Betting eating Kenyans alive
« on: March 28, 2025, 01:50:36 AM »
Money is flowing out of the country and economy in droves. Could be one of the reasons why the economy is stagnating. Having millions of people who are zombies addicted to drugs, alcohol, sex, and gambling is not easy to overcome. That is how white supremacy suppressed Black communities for decades and still does. Same with Native Americans. Casinos, lottery shops, and anything betting-related are located in poor and high-concentration neighborhoods. What they do is ensure algorithms driving betting are tweaked to 99-1, meaning 99% loss and 1% win. In the end millions of dollars disappear from economy and those working continue working while their salaries pay big betting investors out the country
Quote
Gambling, including lotteries and sports betting, is a popular activity in Black communities, with some studies suggesting a higher prevalence of gambling-related harms among Black individuals compared to White individuals, potentially due to socioeconomic factors and access to gambling opportunities.
Here's a more detailed look at the issue:
Prevalence and Potential Risk Factors:
Higher Gambling Participation:
Some studies indicate that Black individuals are more likely to participate in gambling activities, including lotteries and sports betting, compared to White individuals.
Disproportionate Harm:
There is evidence that Black individuals are more likely to experience gambling-related harms, such as problem gambling and addiction, compared to White individuals.
Socioeconomic Factors:
Studies suggest that socioeconomic factors, such as lower income and living in disadvantaged neighborhoods, may contribute to the higher prevalence of gambling-related harms in Black communities.
Access to Gambling Opportunities:
The density of lottery outlets and casinos in minority neighborhoods may contribute to increased gambling exposure and potential problems.
Mental Health:
Gambling problems can be triggered by stressful life events, including job troubles or loss, loneliness, and even retirement. Others at risk of developing gambling addiction include those with mental health diagnoses like depression, anxiety, OCD, ADHD and bipolar disorder.
Sports Betting:
Sports betting is particularly popular among Black communities, and losses can quickly add up, potentially impacting already stretched household budget

I am glad that media personalities are shedding light on the issues that are negatively impacting Kenyans. The absence of money in circulation could be due to the betting machines that facilitate money transfers from Kenya to California and Shanghai. Those apps are evil. Colonization of Africa will be through technology, not the usual way. Pombe is still number one, but betting is just as bad! Never seen such nonsense allowed in African countries. Betting is also in the US but is highly regulated, and money goes back to US corporations, not corporations in Africa, Asia, or outside US walls.

The Betting and Gambling Licensing Board was moved to OP for obvious reasons. Says who is owning controlling stakes in all these betting companies running ads all over online and offline.

Maina Kageni and Classic 105 hosted another explosive episode about Aviator betting, during which many callers shared the horrific experiences their families have endured. Many callers expressed their belief that banning betting would reveal the strength of the Kenyan economy. Boda-boda riders make trips and go to machines only to lose it all. Parents are calling about their able Gen Z becoming slaves to betting. Fathers lose all, and the monthly salaries of people get wiped out. People are losing stuff to auctioneers or taking millions of loans to bet. The episode lasted 5 hours on YouTube, then it was pulled out. https://willowhealthmedia.org/betting-on-disaster-the-hidden-cost-of-kenyas-gambling-craze-from-insomnia-to-suicides/
