The problem with Kenya is very simple. You have a Kikuyu Jaluo Turkana Maasai Kamba either in KDF GSU or Police,You have the same tribes in the airforce. In such a situation, you cannot trust anyone holding a gun, flying a plane or repairing it.We saw the saitoti helicopter crash. The moment you dive the country in a state of war, everybody will be exposed.
In a multi ethnic society like Kenya,The last thing you want near you want is to be near people from different ethnic groups holding guns while they are from different communities. In a times of war,It would be a very risky affair. That is how opposition leader blackmails government because if you touch him there are thousands of his tribesmen who can defend him.
We have seen dangerous scenarios in Congo Uganda Rwanda Burundi. In a multi ethnic states,You can only exercise power through negotiation not force,The use of force creates breakdown of the security apparatus like we saw in Kenya in 2007/8.
Once you start a war,the economy comes to a halt, the security apparatus breaks down and nobody trusts the other upto the seniors.
Guns are not an option in a nation like Kenya.Silence the guns.follow the rule of law.We have no option but peace.
