Ruto's Plans to Rig Are in the works

The proposed Elections (Amendment) Bill 2024, currently before the Kenyan Senate, seeks to remove the requirement for IEBCto live-stream presidential election results. Instead, it mandates electronic transmission of Results to tallying centers within two hours of their announcement at polling stations.

The Bill is sponsored by Senate Majority Leader
@Aaroncheruiyot
  and Minority Leader
@StewartMadzayo

This bill is a product of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO), established to address 'political tensions' following protests after the 2022 presidential election.

The bill is currently under consideration in the Kenyan Senate.

NADCO was established by politicians for politicians to dialogue and recommend reforms on issues of national concerns in Kenya. The committee comprises ten politicians:
Kenya Kwanza Alliance Reps:
1. Hon. Kimani Ichung'wah – National Assembly Majority Leader and Delegation Leader.
2. Hon. Cecily Mbarire – Governor of Embu County and Deputy Delegation Leader.
3. Sen. Aaron Cheruiyot – Senator for Kericho County.
4. Hon. Hassan Omar Hassan – Member of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
5. Hon. Catherine Wambilianga – Woman Representative for Bungoma County.
Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party Representatives:
1. H.E. Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka – Wiper Party Leader and Delegation Leader.
2. Hon. Opiyo Wandayi – National Assembly Minority Leader and Deputy Delegation Leader.
3. Hon. Eugene Wamalwa – Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) Party Leader.
4. Hon. Amina Mnyazi – Member of Parliament for Malindi Constituency.
5. Sen. Okong’o Mogeni – Senator for Nyamira County.
In addition to the main committee, technical teams were appointed to provide expert support.
Kenya Kwanza Technical Team:
1. Dr. Muthomi Thiankolu
2. Dr. Linda Musumba
3. Dr. Duncan Ojwang
4. Mr. Nick Biketi
Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party Technical Team:
1. Mr. Jeremiah Kioni – Team Leader.
2. Prof. Adams Oloo
3. Mr. Abubakar Zein Abubakar
4. Ms. Isabel Githinji

The Big Problem

1. Reduced Transparency Live-streaming election results has been instrumental in providing real-time access to electoral data, enabling citizens and stakeholders to monitor the process closely. Eliminating this requirement is another attempt by Ka.songo's regime  who are now bedding opposition to diminish transparency, potentially eroding public trust in the electoral process.

2. Public Confidence in IEBC
Real-time broadcasting of results allows for immediate verification and fosters a sense of inclusion among the electorate. Removing live coverage may lead to suspicions of manipulation or lack of accountability, undermining confidence in the declared outcomes which is 100x worse and lethal if it happens.

3. Potential for Delays
The proposed reliance on electronic transmission within a two-hour window, without live updates, could result in delays in public access to results. This lag may create a vacuum susceptible to rig,  misinform and speculation, further destabilizing the electoral environment.

4. History!
Kenya's electoral history has been marred by disputes and violence, often stemming from perceived opaqueness in result transmission.
The 2017 Supreme Court nullification of the presidential election cited failures in result transmission as a significant factor. Removing live-streaming could be seen as a regression from the strides made towards electoral transparency since then.
5. International Standards
Global best practices in electoral processes emphasize transparency and real-time access to information as pillars of credible elections.

Lastly, Kenyans are closely watching.
IEBC reconstitution has been delayed for obvious reasons. The courts are involved.
There's a deliberate cheats with ID insurances and gatekeeping, there reports of  foreign trafficking of people into Kenya and issuing IDs.
Corruption deals in preparation of elections 'dirty money'.

Kenyans , don't sleep!

As long as the presidential tally per 500 voters polling station is final stands all the rigging shenanigans are just nonsense.

There will be 1,001 live streams.

We are also looking at a scenario with a possibility of babaman not being on the ballot - which would be a paradigm shift in the rigging shenanigans given he has always leveraged on it.
