Most and least indebted states
« on: December 08, 2024, 06:56:49 AM »
Debt is a burden for many Americans, but data shows Louisiana residents may have a harder time paying off debt than those in other states.

Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma are the top three states for having the most “debt burden,” according to a 2024 Bankrate survey.

The least debt burdened state is Massachusetts, according to Bankrate, with 13 months as the average time to pay off debt, followed by Minnesota, New Hampshire and California at 14 months.

Clearly, the rural areas of Louisiana and Mississippi outside of cities are similar to villages deep in Angola. The roads are not bad, and people are extremely nice, unlike city folk. Inspired by YouTubers, I have traveled extensively in rural America, where most people are poor and plainly uninformed. I had Red Indians at the reservation in Arizona one time asking me how I came from Africa to the US when they are not allowed to leave the reservation to enjoy the rest of America. I think poverty and undereducation can keep you grounded in one place, but when you have money and information, you can move up and down as you wish.  Doing Route US 50 (The loneliest road in the USA) from East to West in 2025, and hopefully Door County in Wisconsin and the Great Lakes. The US is marvelous, and there is a road to enjoy coast to coast. I think Africa would be fun once there are nonstop roads and safe environment connecting all the 50 countries.

Midwest dead towns sprung up to life when Biden brought thousands of Haitians. Zanesville, Ohio; Springfield; and other small towns were dying because of meth/drug problems. By the way, if you need that latest expensive TV worth $5K, go to Zanesville, Ohio, and a methhead will sell it to you for under $35. Drugs are cancer. I doubt Midwest small towns will thrive again, especially with Trump coming in to harass hardworking immigrants. I like touring Appalachia and these small towns. Crazy drugs can ruin cities in a decade! Hope drug invesvestation never hit rural Africa. It will wipe out people and towns worse than AIDS! Drove in Zanesville one day and saw wasted young people lining the streets. Media never shows you, but those folks need Haitians and immigrants to have a chance of thriving again. Jobs came back, but it's hard to find folks to work!
