1. EU is not a powerful institution - power rests with national governments.
2. "Trumpians" are at only 25%. Von der Leyen is already a centrist - that is the best they can get. Juncker was the liberal.
3. The Blairite Keir Starmer - another centrist - is about to sweep over Britain.
4. Trumpians like Javier Milei are misfiring disastrously, Trump the man himself is barely leading, it is not at all a sustainable discourse.

Scholz and Macron should resign – Russia’s top MP

Quote
Summing up the projected results of the election, Volodin claimed that Macron and Scholz – whom he called a “disgrace to Europe” – have “lost big time.” He argued that the disappointing performance of Macron’s bloc was a sign of the “collapse” of the French president’s policies. Macron has effectively acknowledged this by dissolving the National Assembly, Volodin added.

Meanwhile, Scholz’s ruling coalition “has lost the support” of German voters, with the opposition already demanding a vote of no confidence in the government or snap elections, Volodin noted.

Since when did Russia have a say in the EU's politics? They should first hold fair elections in Russia before lecturing other people on democracy.

Btw, a vote of no confidence in Germany has to go through the parliament. Guess who has the majority there? The main opposition in Germany is even more anti Russia than the current government.

Simple Europe and US miscalculated …….Ukraine war is the end of Unipolar world as we have been accustomed to ….
What you see in Europe is a reaction of misguided policies .
Europe without Russia will suffer …. The world will also suffer when Europe is at war but as witnessed in 1960s  the Global south will come out much more powerful ….

Europe is falling like no other..
Isolationism is on full swing.

In which country does the far right have a majority? Even in Italy, where the prime minister is from a far right party, the far right did not get over 50%. The majority of the voters did not vote for a far right party. In Germany the far right got 15% with no other political party willing to work with them.

The unemployment rate in Germany is at 3.2%. Is that what you call big? The German economy is not growing and yet the unemployment rate is low. Other EU economies are doing better and the prices energy prices are back to before the Ukranian war.

Btw, it is not a crisis but a war. People are dying like flies on both sides. Can you inform us how many Russian soldiers have died to free Ukraine from the Nazis?

https://www.europarl.europa.eu/thinktank/da/document/EPRS_BRI(2024)757783

Thursday, 24 February 2022 was a turning point in European history. Overnight, Russia launched a brutal war of aggression on Ukraine, an independent European nation. Two years after the start of the war, its negative effects have been far-reaching. In addition to the harrowing human cost of the war, the economic impact has been devastating in Ukraine itself, but also substantial for the European Union and the world more widely. In the EU, the economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic has been slower than expected because of the war in Ukraine. The European Commission's 2021 Autumn Forecast predicted 4.3 % growth in gross domestic product (GDP) for the EU for 2022, and 2.5 % for 2023, but growth finally registered at 3.5 % for 2022 and an estimated 0.5 % for 2023. The EU also experienced a severe energy and a cost-of-living crisis in 2022, with ripple effects that are still being felt today. The increasing price of energy resulted in exceptionally high inflation figures in autumn 2022, especially in October 2022. This created difficult framework conditions for both EU citizens and companies. Furthermore, to bring inflation down to the 2 % target level, the European Central Bank began to raise its interest rates, with considerable impact, particularly on citizens and companies with large variable-rate loans.

The unemployment rate in Germany is at 3.2%. Is that what you call big? The German economy is not growing and yet the unemployment rate is low. Other EU economies are doing better and the prices energy prices are back to before the Ukranian war.
