I have watched Ruto address the media on taxation, cost of living, wage bill, ethnic balancing in public appointments etc with a lot of sympathy. Why the rush to ventilate on issues you have very little data on or zero understanding on? Why pay advisors who give you half-baked solutions/answers to real problems especially now when majority of Kenyans are angry with GoK due to the high cost of living and also hungry literally?

Can't he get Hussein Mohammed to spew garbage, let the public react on Hussein's garbage, sieve through the public response and collect intel. Thereafter give an official government position. Hussein Mohamed should be schooled by Dr. Mutua Alfred. Mutua did a good job for the Kibaki Government.

Of late Dr. Ruto has been hanged-out to dry. He's been giving contradicting, shallow, unrehearsed responses to vital issues of public interest. How about just keeping mum like Kibaki did while being tough on the cabinet to deliver on UDA promises?

Micro and macro issues are moving at crazy speeds today.

Even at hawker level you are dealing with a 1001 issues per day. One minute you are calling customers, the other you are running screaming.
The other you are enjoying lunch. Next you are complaining of Keg. Next you are enjoying music.

We are been forced to become a mechanical dishonest society where public servants either lie all through or just hide from interviews that we are working to silence the Rutos, Ndiis, Migunas.

The speeches from powerful people are good for accountability.
Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one ~ Thomas Paine

Different styles. Ruto is PORK after having being DPORK for 10yrs and Minister for another 10yrs. So relax.

There are two types of promises.

Big promises that are in manifesto - those will be audited in 2027 - and Ruto will defend his tenure.

There are small promises on the course of leadership - like gov will leave no stone unturned in shakaola - those will be forgotten by next year. Ruto main job in times of turbulence like this is to inspire confidence and comfort the folks that things will be okay.

Ruto problem is he is overly ambitious - and want to get stuff done - asap - but it appears he lacks the people with similar urgency.

He need to fire lot of lazy people who are not making his promises come true - and embarrassing him.

Kibaki is NOT leadership. That is absence of leadership.

I rather Ruto aim for the sun and reach the moon - that promise nothing - do nothing type of Kibaki. Ruto should not be afraid to promise things to be done in 3 or six months - if it doesnt happen - fire someone.  That is how inefficient gov will start functioning.

Otherwise if Ruto promises nothing because he is afraid to fail - he will be EPIC failure in 2027.

These tu small promises nobody will remember soon.

Kibaki with his quietness achieved a lot. To me that is leadership. Getting things done without shouting from the roof-top. Pundito has mentioned two things in his rebuttal to my post which Ruto needs to take into consideration:1. Fire lazy people and those embarrassing him (Thieves). 2. Stop being over-ambitious knowing very well Kenya is in financial doldrums. The latter, simply put,  means do not over-promise. How do you eat an elephant?-bite by bite. You cannot and should not attempt to swallow an elephant wholesome.

It's a good problem to have - overpromising. I would worry if he was kibaki promising nothing. He is putting himself and his gov under pressure. Shida ni wapi.

Let the man be ambitious - aim for the sun - reach the moon - people will understand.

Acording to RVPundit Kibaki promised nothing and delivered nothing.
Mgala umuue na haki yake mpe.
Ruto himself is always quoting what Kibaki did and says he wants to perform like Kibaki.
Ruto is 2 months shy of when he won Presidency any transformational thing he has done ? No compare that to Kibakis first year when he was still in a wheelchair .
You went from zero to Millionare in Kibakis first year you used to say . In Rutos first year have you doubled your wealth ?
I didnt want Kibaki to become President in 2002 but I appreciated he transformed Kenya
Stop the lying .

Precisely Nowayhaha. Ruto keeps on saying he's a Kibaki economics student. The latest of such pronouncements was during the burial of Mrs  Dedan Kimathi. Being ambitious is not bad. Its a no brainier that every sane human being must have ambitions. The question is: are your ambitions realistic? or just populist to make one appear "important, hardworking"

Kibaki underperformed. Moi had basically taken kenya to cleaners.
The only way was up.
Ruto has difficult job because inherited dead economy locally with a dead economy globally.

Ruto has done extremely well in 8 months - and come 2027 - there will be no need for elections.

It meant as propaganda - a constrast to Ufool - meant to show Ufool the middle finger.

I personally think it's a good thing for the president, in a democracy, to engage the public and to take questions. This open discussion should be encouraged especially in Africa where presidents just hide in their walled in mansions or in hotels in paris.

Kibaki was from a different generation that didn't understand democracy.

Uhuru tried, but he was always drunk and people would just end up focusing on his blood shot eyes.

I think Ruto is following Museveni and Kagame (while they're not democrats, they do give a lot of press conferences both to local, regional and international press people)
