I'm getting to the bottom of who's been calling me in La Jolla..

I need to get to New York. I don't feel a connection with San Diego.

This place reminds me of Nairobi... outdated furniture, outdated cars, wailing police sirens, I can't believe this city is in California.

San Diego is nice weather.  Scenery.  Relaxing.  Wrong place if you are looking for an urban experience.  LA has crowds.  But you need a car. 

If you were in the San Francisco area, as I thought you were, because you were going to Stanford, you might find a more interesting setup(in my opinion).

If you want crowds and snow you want to go to NYC.

Termy, these peeps are lazy. Stores open at 10AM and the coffee is terrible. I've been eating Subway every day now. Nothing healthy to eat. I'm from bustling urban Sydney. This place is too slow and empty. You're right. I need to migrate to the north.

LA is full of fakes and flakes, as far I can tell.   No, can't do NY.  Best of times it's full of cold capitalists, and now they have the weather to match.   Besides, the USA and Miami are just a brief "layover" for me: the destination is Panama.   

Senorita rubbish?   Forget the English, learn to habla the lingo, and let's mix-and-mingle South Of The Border (or near it).       

Here's a "mental visual" to encourage you: You and I are on the balcony of this little hotel I know.  Sultry evening.    Warm winds from the Carribean Sea.   In your hair, a little flower.  (I will give it to you when we first meet.) In your hands, some coloured drink with little umbrella things.    Me, now that Obama & the Castros are friends again, I brandish, in my right hand, one of those great cigars that I am told are hand-rolled on the sweaty thighs of Cuban women.  In my right hand, a glass of Anejo Gran Reserva (no  ice).    You are seated.  I am standing, so that you can better appreciate 6' 2" of tall-dark-handsome.  Three floors down, on the sidewalk, the local musicians start on a son.  You sigh in exquisite happiness. I give my hand-rolled cigar a manly, satisfied puff ...

What's with the whining?   I thought you'd be happy to get out of Australia.   True, it has great weather and great natural beauty.   But it also has two problems that will not be solved any time soon: (a) it is cut off from the rest of the world; and (b) it is full of Australians.

You have an interesting imagination... cold capitalist and weather is my scene. People are too nice here it's getting emotionally exhausting. I need a frigid atmosphere to suit my personality. It's too caribeenish and sultry like you say. Cigars can give you lung cancer, knock it off. Indeed downtown there's just loudness and crazy people. Right outside where I'm staying there's all these havana lonely mfckers singing doof doof melodies.

How to celebrate my xmas here... the thought of you standing puffing on a cigar turns me off I'm afraid. Sorry. I refuse to go to bar because there's no doubt bacteria, virus, germs, rabies and stuff. I think I'll just stay in my room for xmas and meditate.

Wait a minute ... I didn't say the cigar would be lit; all I said is that I would be puffing on it.   Still, to avoid misunderstandings, how about this: I get a joint, for the lighting and puffing; and I save the cigar, for the brandishing and a manly look.   

No, don't go to a bar.   Too many drunkards in such places.   But any decent hotel will have what my travel agent calls a "Home-Style Christmas for those who are away from a Home-Christmas".   Just be sure to leave before 11PM; after that, most people are sufficiently sauced to stop pretending it's just like Home.

Not pretending.   I am a Sensitive & Thoughtful Guy, and if a Lovely Lady that I very much Admire & Deeply Respect (and to whom I am about to give a flower) objects to any puffing, then, surely, I must Reconsider & Accommodate.   Besides, because of the particular style of production, I imagine that even puffing on an unlit one of these would give a hint of Subtle Delights.

What am I doing for xmas?    I can't think that far; as it is, I already feel Xmased-Out.    Trees, cards, goodwill, jingle bells ... enough!

Yes, "thank you" seems just right.   And, yes, I have it in mind to give you a flower. What sort of flowers do you like?  Maybe gardenias for a  Billie-Holiday style?

No, I'm afraid I'm not in  the deflowering business.   Messy & untidy stuff.   Besides, these days, I just don't have the time or patience to train anyone, at anything.   

I have no beef with Xmas.   My beef is with those who have Xmased me out with 24/7 Planning & Celebrations.   Still, I have to admit that a couple of the ones down the street make fantastic egg-nog.  Got nicely wobbly last night ....

Do I seem like the person who would be involved in anything that involved "peddling" and "minors"?    Mine has always been Strictly Adults, and whatever training I did was for personal benefit.   Look, if you'd like me to deflower you, just ask nicely and I will think about it.

Yes, egg-nog is all around.   I think in the USA you can even but it ready-made, but I prefer the home-made versions.
