Exactly Crimeria is Russia any act of threat to Russian existance they can justify use of Nuclear weapons , hence the reason U.S. has insisted to Zelensky never target anything on Russian land.
Ukraine is giving Russia more fodder to use nuclear weapons ,which will bring the end of convectional weapons all together . All nations will want to be nuclear armed and this will bring about the end of booming Military industry complex.

6 weeks and they cant hack Donbass Xerson or Zirpojojenie . All they have managed is Izyum and lyman 2 towns of 200 people each.

Once Nuclear weapons are used if Biden once to reciprocate then it will be a nuclear war meaning end of the world. It not in US interest to end war. I doubt Russia will use nuclear and US knows it. US interest is for civil war to continue in Ukraine and keep Russia busy defending their newly acquired territories.

So US will fund Ukraine just enough to keep Russia busy - not not enough to let Ukraine beat Russia.

Ukraine have proven capable - so we enter winter - there will be a lull - then civil war resume in march next year.

Putin has failed here. He should have attacked KIEV. Now he will spend the rest of his regime time fighting in Ukraine - low intensity war.

Putin is not stupid , then again Putin is following a script written long time ago. And yes Putin will use Tactical Nuclear Weapons in Western Ukraine/Poland. Biden knows it, his officials know it but dont want to make the public panic. Just like you they wishfully think he wont go that route.
Merkel came out again the day before yesterday and once again reteriated  take Putin seriously. Once it goes nuclear . It will be a new milestone in war history just as humans left using arrows in 17th Century use of nuclear weapons with be the new kid on the block.

So the world should help Putin keep Crimea or he will nuke it. Sounds dumb. Nobody will listen to his empty nuclear threats. Let him Nuke Ukraine. Then he will still get a hiding....because after nuking a town...you still need boots on the ground. And the sanctions that will come his way - even China will lead in sanctioning Russia. Yes this war has exposed them as third world country - you can see the weapons are USSR era. They are need to take lessons from this war and catch up - otherwise trying threaten Nukes like North Korea is laughable. Threatening the world with weapon of mass destruction just because they cannot carve up a sovereign nation is height of insolence. If anybody attack St Petersburg or middle of Russia - they maybe justified to deploy Nukes - like the US did in Pearl Harbour.
