they boycotted him and most since they hate raila too much couldn't stomach voting for him. others just do not see any reason to participate due to jubilee uhururuto mismanagement of the economy

Ruto got 90% of kikuyus, mostly young people, women, old, men, women, people with disabilities and anyway you want to categorize them . Very big deal. Investments made in 2013 all the way to 2022 paid off. Ruto is strategic and can wrestle votes away from the kingpin in a big way. Uhuru is kikuyu now a drunk naked kingpin that could not convince even 8% of kikuyus to vote Azimio, Jubilee, and Raila. In Kiambu, according to Itumbi numbers, Ruto scored 93% of kikuyu votes. That is very impressive. The 20% in Kiambu that voted for Raila are mostly other tribes.

Kikuyu turnout is historic low... young men stayed in bars and marked their fingers with felt-pens... it is not like they were busy or drunk.

It's only 10% drop - which is incredible considering all the effort Uhuru invested in.
Generally there was low turnout countrywide.
I think 5% was normally rigged or topped up - biometric killed it.
Then historically we should have been at 72% - due to dirty register full of dead people, immigrated and moved

There is a natural latency when you have no candidate at the top of the ticket. 65% is not bad. RV did about 72%. Kenyans are just financially cash-strapped and beaten to smithereens by the anemic economic times and inflations to a point where voting is not a priority to many. I believe external factors played a part in suppressing the turnout nationally. Coast and NEP were in the low 40s

in nairobi and kiambu azimio voters were more motivated than uda leaning ones
