Large scale manufactures electricity cost: Kenya is last
« on: November 11, 2014, 10:21:18 AM »
8.8 US cents in TZ per kilowatt hour
12 us cents in Uganda per kilowatt hour
17.4 US cents in Rwandan
17.5 US cents in Kenyan

No wonder our manufacturing sector is stunted. Paying twice the cost of energy as compared to TZ?

What did Chirchir just told us? Cost of power down by some big margin.

I think down by 30%. We need to get TZ level by going down by 100%. Then RSA and Egypt level by going another 100%. Our current rates are atrocious.

I really wonder why ours is this high. What is Tanzania doing different?
