Jubilee Party vice chair David Murathe said investigating a former president could push the country towards a coup.

He noted that such actions are punitive and may lead to a supremacy battle, the likes of which have never been seen in Kenya.

“Uhuru Kenyatta will be Kenya’s only surviving former president after August 9. Now you tell us that you want to subject him to prosecution and torture ?” posed Murathe.

The first president of Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta died in 1978, Daniel Moi who succeed him passed away in 2020 while Mwai Kibaki died this year

Speaking on Tuesday at K24, he explained that such actions are a recipe for chaos because both the former and the sitting president have networks in the military and police.

“This is where you get coups and counter coups because when the elected president comes and starts harassing former presidents, remember these people have supporters and networks including the police and the army,” Murathe added.

I mentioned this before and you referred to me as a cartoon.  The Kenyatta's are not stupid (they've been in power since 1963 and know how things work)

Ruto is greedy and he is a kleptomaniac.  He will do what all other politicians have done and that is, negotiate a payment buyout plan with Uhuru and take his cut.  Uhuru will then be left alone. 

All those hasorrrr'sss that voted for Ruto and Gichagua will be left in their slums with their flying toilets and life in the great republic of Kenya will continue as is.  Kenya works for corrupt politicians only. They are the one's that get rich. Everyone else is left to struggle.  The smart young one's have realized this and are leaving for the Middle East.  The more desperate one's are leaving for Saudi Arabia.  The lucky one's go to the west.  It is the tragic story of Africa.

Ndii himself will resign in two years just like Githongo and Miguna once he realizes they are same banditos.  He keeps saying "we", we, we as if he is running for office himself (he will found out the hard way who the real we's are)

Why would Ruto negotiate with Uhuru?
Where is the leverage.
Empty threats of a coup?
Kenyattas need REAL leverage otherwise they are going to get crushed.
That is how things work.
For Ruto to betray hustler revolution like Kibaki and risk his re-election - it has to be for a good reason or for good money.
If kenyattas want to part with 80 percent of their loot - yes Ruto would risk.
Otherwise he will crush - get that 80 percent anyway - and loot his own
Ruto doesnt intend to become unpopular soon.
