I agree with you except I see it as a duopoly. Anyone thinking Dems are not agents of corporations needs to dig deeper. They were long taken over, since Clinton era.
And I know it makes no difference in America's case but ideally, courts should not be bothering about any "will of the people" that has not been translated into law in some way. They are not supposed to be politicians but interpreters and appliers of the Law only. In fact, I've always found it strange that lower-level judges are elected in America: talk about judicial interference
A judge shouldn't be concerned about "what people/voters want" when they're deciding matters, only the facts of the case before them and the applicable law. It's no wonder it's so skewed against poor minorities. A lot of the time, "what people want" is someone to crucify. DAs and Judges should NOT be subject to popular elections. That part of the American system is bonkers. A system like the one that selects SCOTUS is ideal in a different environment than the US where everything is tribal and political nowadays.
