Partial national blackout after pylon collapse Imara Daima Embakasi area. Some railway lines blocked by fallen pylons. Corruption killing KPLC but Pundit says its paradise, just arrest small munions and let big ones sing hosanna to the high priest.

How did you determine that corruption is killing KPLC?
What is killing KPLC is uncollected bills running into billions.
Mostly from state parastals and the like of nairobi city councils.

Kenya Power  has written off Sh15 billion in bad debts from unpaid electricity bills, most of which have been outstanding for more than three months.

This has seen the utility company impair Sh15 billion of the Sh29.6 billion unpaid electricity bills as at June 2021, according to the company annual report.

Solution is simple - KPLC should be assisted to collect all these billions - so it can be solvent otherwise they are going down - with the economy. Not good at all.

But for ODMorons as always looking for lazy excuses - ohoo corruption is the big problem.

Of course it is mainly corruption killing KPLC. That is why the likes of Samuel Gichuru and Nicholas Biwott made billions those days and of course of late the very many Kales who headed KPLC under CS Charles Keter now facing corruption charges in court. You cannot milk a cow dry forever and expect it to keep on producing milk.

Which billion dollar project are you aware KPLC is executing lately.
Hakuna. KPLC of the yore was split into Kengen and KPLC.
The real meat is in Kengen and GDC.
Ketraco was hived off - to deal with infrastructure.
KPLC is left to just buy transformers, poles and wires.
Most big corruption is on those poles and transformers.
But what ails KPLC - is unpaid bills - mostly by state corportations - broke universities - and parastals.
Corruption in kenya is a given but many things work or thrive.

If KPLC cannot collect debt and now want assistance to collect billions outstanding bills what is that in small words?

Management, corruption, and electricity theft from Jua Kali-cum-insider brokers are to blame. There are thousands of illegal connections in Kenya, especially in the villages. Some folks in Kenya have illegal electricity, and they don't even know it, courtesy of shady folks. This kind of hidden corruption is catastrophic to KPLC's bottom line in the long run.

Electricity theft and brokers have always been there since the nyayo era yet kplc has never sunk this low. It all boils down to corruption. Simple and plain. To be frank it's a failure of the jubilee administration, in other words a product of Tano tena
