When I see Uhuru laughing with NASA politicians and Gideon on the sideway , I find it funny.. If I was an advisor of the NASA politicians would read a riot letter to them.

That is why in politics it is very important to invest in intelligence, counter-intelligences, have spies, double agents, and name them. Also assume the opposite of what they see - unless you can see how you both benefit. A selfless politician is dead...nobody does things for benefit of anybody except themselves
Fact is the following at Present Uhuru needs Raila as close as possible so that he can use him as political cover against Ruto and in the process loot alone. Secondly he needs to safeguard the loot after he leaves power. In that he needs to have an influence in the next regime or have a trustworthy person as President in next Govt. For now he has all the weapons in his hand.
Unfortunately by edging out Ruto durimg 2nd term it hit a nerve. That can be mended by cutting a deal.
Now by keeping Raila busy and maintaing him as a high profile contender in 2022 elections he is indirectly giving Ruto a through pass. He has made it too easy for Ruto to ascend to power. It could have been a battle if Raila had hamg up his boots as he had promised after his last bullet shot in 2017.
One thing you need to appreciate Uhuru and Ruto have worked together since 1999 with exception of 4 Months end of 2007 early 2008.
They were in hague together and won Presidency Thrice together so . Same way Kalonzo says he wont be Railas running mate amd we know 101% They will be together come Aug 2022.
